Oh shit. My lights didn't come on today and I just noticed 6 hours late. Should I just run it 12 hours today and resume 18 tomorrow or should I just start flowering or even just run it now for 18 hours, then start a whole new light schedule?

the pair of growth tips next to the main you you cut off will grow bigger now as a result of topping. I am assuming you dont expect 2 'new' ones to spring up or regenerate where the initial one was removed. The result of this is two or more BIGGER main colas vs one. you get 2 medium-large instead of one that would have been fairly large. basically more weight at harvest time. the top of the plant grows slower than the bottom bc it already has a majority of the light and doesnt need to stretch for more. So those two up top will not grow as fast or tall in comparison to the lower ones but they will produce an overall bigger yield in the end

Even though my two new growths (as a result of topping) were not that big (2 inches), I chose to just let the girl start flowering. Today will be the second day (I didn't want to start yet, but had to due to that lighting problem. Height was also a problem because the plant, even before floweing is at 1.5 feet, so I'm hoping for a final 3 footer by the time it's over with.

I'll post pics of Day 2 Flowering as soon as I get off work.

I think that's a good call G-Dub. You'll continue to see growth (both width and height) in the 2 new tops for 7 - 10 more days I bet....

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has droped by and laid down their two cents. All help has been mighty appreciated it. Almost off work now, so pics should be up within the hour.

hey just finished reading ur thread, lookin great G, i also have some DP blueberry and some brainstorm, i havent started it yet , hope everything goes well, how often do u feed/water your plants? and what kind of soil mix ur using and nutes?

I'm using some organic soil I bought with no added ferts, then mix that with 1/3 perlite to give it a very airy type feel. The only nutes I use are Schultz Basic 10-15-10 and do a 1/2 strength feeding every 3-4 days (or everytime I water). I also mix in some Fish Oil, which contains 5-0-0 but it is organic and non-burning.

As for flowering, I will be switching to this Schultz Bloom Syrum that is solluable and 10-50-10. I plan to start mollasses extra early, probably around the 3rd week of flowering. I want these buds to get nice and fat.

Anyway, here's some new pics. I LST'd in order to give the bottom branches light and it seems like it will work beautifully. Also planted my 8 new germinated seeds, which will probably break soil in a day or two. Let's hope I pull out more than one female this time though. I'm going to run these guys on 24 hour cycle as opposed to the 18 I did before to see how much of a difference it all makes.

When exactly am I supposed to start seeing flowers? This is the 4th day of flowering, just wondering.

shrooms are so fun to grow. do you have grow bags? its impossible to mess up with those things. you should see some pistils in the next few days. WOuldnt fret it. what strain of those boomers do you have?

B+ is the name, just did the innoculation part and now have them incubating.

So they're hard to fuck up?

Depends, how long has it been since you topped? they say it takes a week for a topped plant to recover and two weeks for a fimmed plant, mediocre she was topped, she took more like two weeks to recover, I put her into flower too early and she took her time to actually start flowering as bushy and small they started instantly.

Shouldn't take much more than a week into flower, I would say ten days tops, however it also could depend on the strain, how long they have been in veg, (their age) conditions etc. give it a few more days.

if you just keep everything sterile and you are using sterile grow bags then ya you should be all set. I do live in the desert basically so there is not much mold in the air . Use plenty of H2O2 to keep things germ free. you can put 3% directly on the colonized substrate even to keep it sanitized. i was able to have a few blocks going and fruiting for about 3 months. I had way more than I ever ever imagined. I plan on doing it again come march so I can have bags full for the spring and summer. but do be careful, I had some really bad trips from the B+, just got way way too sick a couple times. We had some hawaiian type too that was actually the most enjoyable.

You've tried it?

How much of the B+ have you taken when you had those bad trips? Ha, I don't want that man, that would suck. I usually only take half an eighth and like to be in public situations while I trip lol The dark is good too.

Humbolt, I still am not seeing anything but I can tell there was a major growth over night and it seems to be going really well.

I usually eat a 1/2 eighth or an eighth. I have eaten a couple eights before but only after being 3 hrs in on the first eighth and not really feeling anything. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel that night. not so fun. I got the most sick from my smallest dose, almost like there was a bad one in there or something. It was just a couple small fresh ones... the shrooms will go much quicker if you just keep breaking up the substrate while it is colonizing. Maybe every other day break up all the clumps and clusters. it can take a month or two to get it fully colonized, but after that it is so exciting. they start popping up over night. I move my substrate from the bag to a large chamber that I made from a clear plastic storage container, and this allows them to grow much bigger if you can keep it humid and keep some fresh air circulating.

CJsesh, what's the yield normally like on these bad boys with 10cc's of spores? Just general idea.

oh buddy I am so happy you topped that BB. That is going to be such a nice plant!! I got about 5 flushes from 2- 5lb grow bags. then mold and bacteria got them and it smelled like death, very traumatic experience. If you ever see mold chuck them and dont mess around!! I think I pulled just over 4 oz dried from my two bags, I grew B+ and PES Hawaiian. almost identical strains, i really didnt know what I was doing at the time. I inocculated the bags with 10cc syringes on the first week of july and it was the last week of AUG when they started pinning up all over. I advise you to put light on the whole block of substrate, not just the top, and let the whole thing pin up all over. Then transfer it to a fruiting chamber and the ENTIRE brick will be covered with big meaty shrooms. I prefer to make tea from the fresh ones, its the best experience i've ever had. I should have some pics from my grow somewhere around here, let me find them for ya. I had those two blocks taking turns in the fruiting chamber for about 2 months, getting a harvest almost every friday from the rotation. It won me a lot of popularity amongst local mycologists! I had kids practically beating my door down for them. It was great money and I made some new friends! barely any effort too. I made some spore prints that i'm still hanging onto, and recently filled a double lined garbage bag with substrate, got it to colonize, and right after i placed it in cups to grow, and placed them in the chamber, some fungus flies showed up and everything turned yellow and pink and molded over. real sad day, but just remember to make prints from your best caps

Ha thanks for droppin' by with the kickass comments as always. Idk man, I've just been tryin' to make a good omlet for like half a year now and I finally found the way. Plus I saw Tahoe's picture up in the journal and maybe, just maybe, I am making fun.

Us stoners love our breakfasts, right?

I'm not using bags for the shroom grow, but jars which I sanitized for an hour and a half by boiling and then filled with subtrate and injected 1.8 cc into each one in four different places. I have it under an incubator cooking them at 80-82 degrees and have the lights ready when the time comes. I think I should be able to knock this out in like 20 days according to the directions I'm following. Oh well, we'll see.
