Hello all, this is my first grow after a couple years of research and the desire to grow. This is a legal grow up in the PNW. Looking for constructive criticism and encouraging words, so here we go!
Equipment:
600w Dual spec Hortilux
Yield Master 6" Reflector
600W Select-A-Watt Galaxy Ballast
Gotham Hydro 2x4 tent
4" Hurricane inline fan
Can Filter

Strains:
All from local collective except bagseed of course
1x Dutch Treat
1x Las Vegas Purple Kush
1x Supposed GSC
1x Pineapple Express
1x Sweet Island Skunk
6x Bagseed for giggles

Medium:
Canna Coco
Some clones have a little soil in them from transplant.
For nutes I am running HG CannaA + CannaB
Roobastic
Will add nutes or back off as needed

Ladies were also not looking the best when I got them from the collective, trying to nurse them back a little and should probably be under 18/6. But they're running from 12/12 from seed/clone fed with 5ml A and B (1/3 str) also 3ml of rootbastic, may possibly revert to veg if I decide to scrog. Im really looking for some good opinions on what method of growing I should use here SCROG vs SOG and what would the best way to achieve it for my specific setup and MAX yield potential. Space probably allows for 25 plant SOG if I can pull it off or a 2-3 plant scrog. Thanks for checking this out! Cheers.

I think you would be happier with a SoG... a tad bit more work but so many more flavors and potential. I think SoG has more potential for yield because you can move the buds around the light more easily and thus have more control of the canopy... not only that but every cola is a dominant cola. you might look into staking the plants around week 4 of flowering.

The ScroG is cheaper if you are going from seed and is easier to keep track of the health of just a few plants rather than many plants. A scrog can get some pretty huge yields... if you would be happy with just 2 or 3 strains this would be the way to go. you can get some pretty massive yields with little effort.

You should do the SoG because you can get clones so easily. You will enjoy having the additional flavors even if it is more work to handle larger numbers of plants.

Depends if it is in your budget to buy 15+ clones every 2 months. Also depends on if you are trying to comply with your states laws on plant count.

ScroG is easier but the yield RATE isn't necessarily higher than SoG.

i've done both.

scrog was a fun grow but a pain in the ass to water.

i didn't think things through. lol

with those 2 choices, i'd go SOG over scrog but i'd lay out a bunch more seeds.

depending on your room size, i'd just let them grow and tie them down for a more bushy plant.

how high is the ceiling in there?

i use a 600 watt in a 5 foot square tent. the yeilds are nice.

Thanks for both of your inputs I very much appreciate it! I currently am also in the middle of building a DIY aero cloner. So both options are viable. I dont have much height (4') which is the concern for max canopy space so I need to try to use the width of the tent as much as possible.

Currently looking for nute help. I am feeding at 1/3 strength is this way to much too early? I believe my plant leaves are really beginning to be really lime green/yellow its really weird. The ph of my feeding is ~6.5 advice?

Edit: Really looking around and its looking like a nitrogen deficiency. Please feel free to chime in. I'm going to continue searching around for a fix.

Ahhhh, it's been a couple days and decided updating every day or so is kinda pointless at this stage lol. Im lazy :bigjoint:. Not much has changed in the room. The smaller of the plants are at 16 days and the clones have been in my system about a week or two. Just pushing out new growth. The GSC is growing super bushy from clone. Its odd because the other clones that I have are growing more spaced out. Tent temps are doing alright. Feeding every 2-3 days with 1/3rd & 1/4 strength nutes because I didn't know if I was overfeeding. I really need to dial in the nutes I think i am being held back. Looking for some advice with my feeding. I don't quite understand House & Gardens schedule.

Hello mate. Your ph should be 5.8. Never grown 12-12 form clone but lots form seed but I'd up the strength of feeding. Start at 1/4 strength and build up from there, if the leaves start to get burnt tips feed a little less. And if you do 12-12 fc they usually just grow 1 fat cola so sog would be good to do as you can pack in multiple stains

Im back, had a little break so I took some time off. I've been planning on the next grow already and what needs to improve. My ladies are in 2.5 weeks into flowering and showing some bud. All reacting very well to my 1/2 feeding and the purple kush got a new batch of nutes up at 3/4 strength about 9.5ml of A+B. But she hasn't looked as good as the rest always droopy leaves, off green color I've fed her the same up till now still looks bad. Idk what to do. The seedlings are almost at their 4th node and looking green. The pineapple express is looking fantasic and loving the feeding as well down at 1/2 strength. Here's some pics.
