I never go to show you these shots of the root ball as she came out of the little pot...
I can only imagine what it will be like at harvest time...
hey bro did u tease those root up a bit when u transplanted her? u dont want them going round the way they are, (root bound) break the roots up a little and kinda spread them out.
It's looking better since u cleaned the bottom up.

The way I see it...
It would break a ton of roots, hurting the plant and leaving bits of dead root to rot in the pot...
Those roots grow like crazy... I am sure she has figured out that she has the extra room and started to stretch by now...
I guess we'll see at harvest time...

I'm thinking something along these lines might work...
hey i have my certificate in horticulture, we did grafting as part of our studies. unless u intend on vegging for another like 4-6 weeks u wont have enough time for the plant to actually take. The scion will also need a few weeks to row aswell so it may put u behind many weeks to make it worth while. also if u do decieded to do it remember With all successfully grafted plants, any shoots that occur from the stock below the join must be removed or the stock may grow away very vigorously and overwhelm the scion. any way just thought i'd let u know least i learned something at tec. It's a good idea though just need to start it earlier.

it actually encouranges new root growth and stops that swirling/circling that the roots tend to do, esp in a pot thats to small for the size plant. u want them (the roots) reaching out, not circling. the theroy behind big pot = big plant is the roots head down. In a small pot they go down hit the bottom and because the pots diameter is small it goes round and round and round becoming "Root Bound"

Step 4: Remove the plant from the old pot. You will need to wet the soil pretty good in order to get the plant out. Once the soil is moist all the way through, grab the plant firmly by the bottom of its stock or at the point where the leaves or vines come out of the soil. You may have to twist and shake the plant a little but the whole thing should come out as one big mass.
Step 5: Tease the roots. You should try to break up the root ball either by pulling at it with your hands or by using a knife to cut into the roots. If you do cut into the roots, cut about an inch deep and also remove any large coils that have formed at the bottom of the pot. This will not hurt the plant; in fact, it will help it grow.

Well, she's asking for a change in schedule...
She's starting to get soft at the end of 6 hours...
So I am upping the schedule from 3x 15 minute floods ... to 6x 15 minute flood....
She is drinking mad water right now... and it almost seems like she getting ready for a big growth spurt...
I am really happy with my decision to use my old moms for this instead of killing them...
Plant #1, the one that was passed up, is actually begging for a set up like her sister's...
I haven't been able to get al the stuff here yet.. so she'll have to wait...
I can't wait to see that room with all 4 trees...

So here is my first grafting attempt...
two small branches pruned from another plant were grafted onto the rootmass and stalk from one of the lollipops I just chopped...
It's been 48 hours and all seems well...
the leaves were already deformed, that was not caused by the graft...
I can see water leaking around the grafts.. so it seems they should take...
Next time I will get some sealing wax and a sharp blade...
I split the top... and I oggered a hole with the fork on the side... kinda crude... but they are still alive...

So I had to move the light waaay up in order to cover all of her...
I am pretty sure once I have more lights up, the "wash" will take care of that and I will be able to lower them considerably...
And I am still waiting on parts..
I only have one 110v cord for the ballasts, so I am alternating them for now...
This picture really doesn't do it justice, but neither does the HPS...
This is the original plant #1 that got passed up...
I can only imagine the wall of bud that will form with those branches...

Personally I would be waiting and trying to get all the smaller growth to fill up the center of the canopy before I would flower them if you are wanting that big yield. Because these were moms and not tied down in any way over their lifetime the canopy is not as thick as it would be on a plant that had LST from a younger age.
I can see you are itching to get the bud production started lol. If you have the 2 rooms going then I guess if you flipped them now by the time they are ready your other plants in veg should be at a good size to start to flower.
Are both lights working now? You could possibly move the plants closer together for now so they can get more rays from both lights.
I would be waiting for the small middle growth to fill out the center up to about the red line so the canopy is nice and full before turning them.

It could be and if your prepared to wait then it should pay off. Your next run wont require as much veg time if the plants get a good start from an early age with some LST.
Yeah I did see yours before in another thread. I just use a cheap timer which I can plug in a 4 way powerboard to and it will do all my lights. I run the fan/filter seperately so I can just turn it on whenever I want. Ideally I would like to have the fan hooked up to a temp gauge though.
