Northern Lights morning again - stand by... LOL
Something else I have been doing every watering is taking a little back-scratcher that's shaped kind of like a rake and roughing up the top 1/2" or so of soil. I started this because the top feed recommends it, but I noticed from the first pot I ever dissected after a grow that you'll get a stiff carpet of small roots across the top.
So in addition to making watering go a little quicker, I think it might be better for the plant long term. All those little roots are just going to hit air and die, but they will continuously put out new growth if "damaged".
