Hey guys,

My res temps are too high, im very concerned about pyhtium and root rot, if i understand correctly, if you have a warm res, warm water cannot hold alot of oyxgen, so having 10 airstones doesnt help because the water cant absorb the excess oxygen, and i understand the best way to correct this is to dilute 30% hydrogen peroxide to 3%, then add 3mls to each 'gallon' (i use litres, ozzie), this will eat away at bacteria and help the plant uptake more nutes because of the added oxygen.

Problem is, because i live in a rural area, (not in a big city), i need to order most of my shit onlne, unless its a few hundred dollars worth or shopping day.

I went to ebay and google and i cannot find h202 for cheap, i was looking at 500mls for $60ish incl shipping.

i just had a lightbulb moment, if im diluting 1:11, to get 30% down to 3%, then 500ml will last me like a year.

damnit can someone help a noob understand this,

plz dont comment bmeat, im asking kindly.

No, the only way to correct it is to get your water temps down - you might as well add ice, the h2o2 isn't going to work long after you put it in.

Exactly how warm are you running? You might just want to bite the bullet and get a chiller for ~$400 - if your running warm in February I don't see your situation improving.

You can use 3% H2O2 no problem, but there's no substitute for cooling your res. Unless you're industrial size, I'd consider moving reservoir out of the room before I spent the money on a chiller. The extra pump, hose, and hassle is probably a lot cheaper than $400.
