Had an idea last night would like some input

Soi was thinking as I was transplanting some girls last night what if I mixed some rooting powder in with the coco and perlite. Would it allow the roots to gow faster into the new media? I think next batch of seedlings I transplant I will powder half and see which ones fill out the new pots faster and fuller. Has anyone tried this before? Am I on to something or wasting rooting powder(not that I use it much I use clonex)?

interesting idea... i have been thinking about using beneficial microryzae to boost nutrient uptake and to prevent transplant shock...

I use Oregonism XL by Roots Organics, which has several strains of beneficial bacteria and fungus. Most different companies have there own brand. Also, I just switched to a soil with mycroryzae included. It is organic and a half the price of the Roots Organics I was using. The name is Espoma Organic, $11.99, just as good or better, but I must say a heat tape under germinating seeds and seedlings greatly improves germ grates and growth rates. Stay medicated my brothers and sisters

Where do you get you're benneficials? A local shop?
I don't like to use names, however 'Smithfield' and 'Glocester' are the only two shops I've ever used. Never saw any beneficials in Smithfield but I will ask next time I go. I've seen Glocester has a whole little shelf of them, however each time I've gone there and tried to ask simple questions - I was treated like a leper... so I don't go there anymore.

Smithfield is great for selection and prices but Rt. 44 is like the new Rt. 2 - rock in a hard place if your from Northern RI.

Smithfield is a stones throw from chepatchet on 44 and great customer service. I've never seen the other one open. I work right next to the one in Warwick and have never been in there I'd rather wait to go to Smithfield unless a complete emergency.

I use a "root enhancer" called "white widow" its expensive but in the long run very well worth it. I place some powder in my rooting water with my clones and its the bomb. ALSO- I sprinkle a small pinch of powder on the soil around the base of transplants AND young seedlings early to get that root system strong and kickin'.
