Hairy's 1st AeroGarden grow!

They are getting very crowded so I have done some LST to get light to interior buds. I have tied some of the branches and pulled them outward.
I also trimmed another lower branch (with smaller buds) to force growth to the top buds.

This is a great learning experence for me. I can hardly wait for my next grow. It will be much better...fingers xx'd.

I'm done trimming fan leaves. When they yellow and start to fall off, then I'll remove them. Meanwhile I'll use tucking, I'll continue to remove small sucker branches and continue to do some LST'ing to get more light to the bud areas.

To this point in my grow:

I have 6 healthy females in a very small grow environment which has caused me to modify my grow strategy.

I have topped & femmed and maintained a fairly even canopy throught the veg cycle.

My roots are small and not crowded. This is a good thing for a 1 gal res. and 6 growing plants. I think I have reduced the root growth somewhat by minimally trimming lower fan leaves in the late veg stage and cutting off lower branches. I also think the air stone provides oxygen to the roots and they dont have to stretch as much to get it. I'l have to see how much a smaller root area affects bud production.

I have tried to increase air circulation thru the plants by trimming off lower branches. I think that this discourages, rot, mold, bugs, etc. and provides air circulatrion and gets some light to the lower leaves & branches.

I am doing some LST to expose buds to more light for increased growth.

I am tucking in fan leaves as necessary, not removing them unless they are dying.

And the thing I'm proudest of is, that I have not killed them yet.

ANY INFO/ SUGGESTIONS/HELP AT THIS POINT WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

YEAH! No more $1.39/gal bottled water or $2.99 for a 2.5 gal container. Today, I finally found a Culligan water dispensing machine at a local grocery for only 43c/gal. I have been looking for about 2 weeks. They are very hard to find here. What a savings!!!!!!!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both of these tests were performed using r/o'd water from the same 1 gal container at the same time. I followed the directions that come with each kit and did the test 3 times with the same results.
As you can see the results from each kit are completely different.

The kit on the left is a HAGEN WIDE RANGE kit and the test on the right is using an API Ph test kit.

Hagen test = 5.5
API test = 7.0

I need to accurately test my Ph so does anyone know what I can get that is accurate and at a reasonable price point?

Any help is appreciated.

I almost forgot this was an Aerogarden grow, your plants are huuuuge! You're gonna get some amazing yields!!! Might need to get a digital pH meter if you can't find the General Hydroponics kit, that's screwed up.

Yo hairy take some pics of the bottoms of your plants so i can see how u cut them at the bottom as u said lolli popped them. And i got that same ph tester u got on the right. Its neva let me down yet. But a digital meter is the best. Ask purp daddy where u can get 1. He told me about 1 bak in the day he bought for like 30-35 bucks and it was digital. If u ask him he can get u the link to the page of it. That 7.0 definitely needs to be droped until its light yellow. Ive neva had a digital ive always used the API test and as long as it is light yellow u should have no problems. But if u want pin point accuracy ask purp daddy where he got his digital ph meter from. Hope i was some help. When u can get some pics of the bottoms up let me know in my thread. My 1 kush plant is gettin outta control. Bitch is almost 2 and a half feet wide. And the leaves are growin into the walls and my door. Wanna see what urs look like so i can see if it will help me

Actually, I just ordered BOTH a digital pH meter AND the GH test kit & adjusters.

I dont think either kit is worth a shit and now I dont believe either reading is accurate.... I just ordered a digital pH meter AND ther GH test kit and adjusters. I dont want to fuck it up at this late stage.

Far as lillipopping, just go back a few pages and you'll see the pix. It didnt tuen out to be a lollipop but I trimmed off the bottom leaves & branches for air circulation and to force growth to the tops. I understand tons of guys do it like this.

When I checked my grow last night, my water temp was at a dangerous 80 degrees. I looked into the tank and I couldn't see much water coming thru the pods so I figured the pump was pretty clogged because I couldnt see that anything else had changed.

I unplugged it, drained it and then removed the top containing the plants. I cleaned out the filter pad and pulled roots from around the pump. I was amazed how full of roots the tank was. I reassembled it and the temp went back down to 71 degrees. Has anybody else had a problem like this?

It makes me wonder if there's room for 3 more weeks growth until it finishes.

Next time, I'll just do 2 or 3 plants. That should be about right, I'm thinking

I'm going to post new pix on Sunday and I'll take one of the bottom for you so you can see how I trimmed it to allow for more airflow.

I AM SO FUCKING PISSED. WHY CANT I FIND SOMETHING TO CHeck my pH ACCURATELY.....fuck, fuck, fuck.....AND DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 2 pH kits that read 2 points difference (see pH test results pix a few posts back) and now THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!F>>>U>>>C>>K>>>!!!!!!!!!

So, I got that fucking pH meter I bought that's in the pix a couple posts ago. I turn it on and without having it in anything and it's randomly flashing different numbers. I stuck it into my AG res and it reads 4.1......Yeah, 4.1 METER SUCKS. No calibration fluid with it so I emailed the seller who is looking for some....if he can find it he says. (yeah, it's new)

I'm still waiting for the GH test kit....That'll be the 4th thing I've used. ( A man with 1 watch knows what time it is. A man with several watches isn't really sure)
