Half the leaves turned brown...overnight???

So both the seedlings in the attached pics were fine yesterday, and when I checked them last night I did not see the brown tips like shown in the pics. Did not water or add nutes yesterday. They are in organic MG potting soil from Walmart and being fed with a weak MG indoor plant liquid feed every couple days. Other plants look okay, but I'm afraid i have a problem that all will succumb to.

I do have a problem with little flies. I've been spraying Neem oil on the leaves and soil, to absolutely no avail (I will likely have to switch to a chemical insecticide, which I didn't want), and the problem started around the same time.

So is this related to the flies? The neem oil? Nutrient balance? PH on the run off from this mornings watering was ~6-6.5

how old are they?
usually you don't feed anything other then water for first 3 weeks due to soil having feed in it.
and spraying shit on seedlings is not something id encourage.

anyhoo

good luck.

They are about 4 weeks old from germinated seeds. If these are done...can someone tell me why? I don't want to repeat a mistake, nor continue nurturing the other 18 seedlings if this is a contagious plant disease.

I didnt start nutrient feeding until about 3 weeks. I'll lay off the neem oil and see if that helps

MG soil has "hot spots" in the soil due to those little feeding pellets inserted into the mix...I'd lean towards this being your issue...There is no way those plants are goners...just ease up on their care during the infancy...I also agree on nute usage...too young/small for nutes right now...give them a rest for a couple weeks...then get going again...g/l

It definitely looks like nutrient burn... Grow your seeds only in peat next time, no nutrients until the small round leaves are completely gone or you see some yellowing. Fitz is right, once seedlings stunt they are just going to be a headache until they finally die.

It's also looks mega-wet, was that because you thought they were drying out? Careful with any soil that has fertilizer added, excessive water will cause the nutrients to become active all at once, also an unfun way to murder a young girlie.
