Hamas offensive against Israel

Missed this the other day and didn't see it posted, would anyone be shocked if Gaza doesn't exist in 1,000 hours?

“This is exactly the moment of truth. Nations must stand up to the truth. … We have to understand [that Hamas] has built a machine of evil right at our doorstep. It is an entire nation out there that is responsible. It’s not true, this rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved. It’s absolutely not true. They could have risen up. They could have fought against that evil regime which took over Gaza in a coup d’etat, murdering their family members,” he said. “There’s a short memory in the world.”

“Israel evacuated Gaza unilaterally in order to show that it’s willing to make peace,” he recalled. “I was a member of that cabinet. We said to our nation, ‘This will be Hong Kong of the Middle East.’ Well, reality has turned into tragedy. Therefore I must say, this situation impacts the entire vision of people as to the ability to adhere to the same old rhetoric. We are working, operating militarily according to rules of international law, period. Unequivocally. But we are at war. We are at war. We are defending our homes. We are protecting our homes. That’s the truth. And when a nation protects its home, it fights. And we will fight until we break their backbone.”

My opinion (worth exactly what you paid for it), there is likely to be a push towards the border and that crisis will blow this whole thing up. I actually thought war moving forward was mostly going to be Stuxnet/Operation Olympic Games style warfare, not aircraft carriers and tanks. So naïve.

We will see what the comment will be in Arab news sources tomorrow. While there I caught this, a little background of why we are here.

Israel fired 'warning shells' at Gaza hospital before strike
Oct 17, 2023
Yousef Abu al-Rish, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, reports details of the events at Al-Ahli al-Arab hospital in Gaza.
In his statement, he says that the Israeli army claimed they resorted to hitting the hospital with two warning missiles because no one picked up when they called the hospital.

No Gaza Aid Through Egyptian Border Days After Blinken Announced Humanitarian Deal
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden arrived in Israel, telling reporters that one goal of his meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was “encouraging lifesaving capacity to help the Palestinians who are innocent, caught in the middle of this.”

In a social media post on Wednesday, the Israeli Defense Forces said without providing details that aid would be made available at Al-Mawasi, a coastal bedouin village in southern Gaza near the city of Khan Yunis. There, the post said, “international humanitarian aid will be provided as needed.” Two global humanitarian officials told The Messenger this was the first they’d heard of Al-Mawasi as an aid delivery point.

More than 1 million Gazans have been displaced since Oct. 7, when Hamas launched a gruesome raid on Israel, massacring an estimated 1,400 people. More than 3,400 people have been killed in ongoing Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, Palestinian officials said Wednesday, with more than 12,000 injured.

The number of displaced people includes hundreds of thousands who left their homes in northern Gaza following an Israeli warning that residents should flee for their lives ahead of an anticipated ground invasion.

On Sunday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the Rafah crossing "will be reopened…We’re putting in place with the United Nations, with Egypt, with Israel, with others, a mechanism by which to get assistance in and to get it to people who need it.” His comments were tempered on Tuesday following nine hours of talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, when he said Israel had agreed to "to develop a plan" to bring aid to Gaza.

It was unclear if a Tuesday night blast at the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza would further complicate U.S. efforts to bring aid into Gaza. Israeli and Palestinian officials have blamed each other for the explosion, which Palestinian officials say has killed more than 400 people.

Israel has continued with airstrikes near the Rafah crossing; it was unclear when or if the border post would open. "Without safety nothing is possible," Della Longa told The Messenger. Meanwhile aid and assistance remained stalled.

“It’s critically important to deploy," Tom Potokar, chief surgeon at the International Committee of the Red Cross said in a statement. "There are a huge number of wounded people...There are far bigger numbers in terms of the people injured. The humanitarian crisis that is unfolding is on a much bigger scale.”

Looks to me like the hospital is intact and the garage looks to be hit. Handy place to store and fire off rockets?

How are we to believe anything else from the Hamas side?

An influencer? What part of the government is he in?
Israeli journalist Hananya Naftali initially claimed that the Israeli Air Force was responsible for the hospital strike. However, he subsequently deleted his post, adding a layer of intrigue and uncertainty to the narrative. Meanwhile, videos began circulating on social media, positing that the rocket had been misfired by Hamas. Yet, their veracity remains unverified, and one such video, shared by ‘Israel War Room’, was deleted shortly after being posted, followed by an apology.

Naftali’s rise as a public figure began in 2014 during Israel’s “Operation Protective Edge,” when he was serving in an IDF tank unit.

When asked how he got involved with former prime minister and now Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud Party, Naftali credited his “chutzpah.”

“By that time I had a few hundred thousand followers, so I literally messaged Benjamin Netanyahu’s adviser on Facebook one day. A few hours later he responded that they had thought about this idea themselves, and so it was funny that I had contacted them first,” he said.

Seems to be multiple pictures of the parking lot. Where is the damaged hospital? Where is the rubble. I worked on building maintenance at a hospital, I see little indication that the building took a hit.

What is the proportionate response for Israel??
I think an appropriate response would be to destroy the people that did the attack on Israel. Saying that I do not always approve of Israel's response. How do we know they are out of line when Hamas lies to us us what the Israelis have done? On the plus side, Israel says they will be letting emergency food, water and medicine to go into the strip.

Great interview, worth giving a watch..

"Israel is telling you what's happening. Palestine is showing you what's happening to them."

Would love to see humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Do Palestinian children, women and men that have NOTHING to do with Hamas, deserve to be punished for the actions of a radical army? Will Israel be held accountable for their 3500+ death count from the sky?

Gaza City – Al-Ahli Arab Hospital is a gruesome sight the morning after a massacre on its grounds – bloodstains on cement, grass and tattered bedding, shards of glass glitter next to shattered paving blocks and the twisted, burned-out remains of cars.

Three thousand people who survived missile attacks in other parts of Gaza had come to take refuge at al-Ahli, where they slept in the garden courtyard and in the upper floors of the hospital building.

Those who were not among the at least 500 people who were killed in Tuesday night’s attack walked around dazedly, collecting what belongings were still usable or helping retrieve dead bodies and body parts.

“What happened is a crime against humanity,” Mohammed al-Nageh, the hospital’s director of programmes and coordination told Al Jazeera.

“This hospital, which has functioned and delivered health services for more than 140 years, was attacked in the most brutal manner, massacring more than 500 souls.”

When is it time to stop supporting the oppressor?

this was one al arabiya this morning:

“According to our intelligence, Hamas checked the reports, understood it was an Islamic Jihad rocket that had misfired, and decided to launch a global media campaign to hide what really happened,” Hagari further said, adding: “They went as far as inflating the number of casualties. They understood, with absolute certainty, that it was a rocket misfired by Islamic Jihad that damaged the hospital.”

Israel Instagram account blasts Gigi Hadid
Hadid, who is half-Palestinian, took to her Instagram over the weekend to share a graphic that read: “There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians. Condemning the Israeli government is not antisemitic and supporting Palestinians is not supporting Hamas, according to Variety.

“Have you been sleeping the past week?” the State of Israel wrote on Instagram in reaction to Hadid’s post. “Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes? Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you.”

The State of Israel’s post also included a graphic that revised the original post to call out Hamas.

The revised text reads: “There is nothing valiant about Hamas’ massacre of Israelis. Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestine and supporting Israelis in their fight against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do.”

The State of Israel also included in its post an image of a bloodied floor with children’s toys, writing to the model: “If you don’t condemn this your words mean nothing.”

The post from Hadid comes about a week after one from her younger sister, fellow model Bella Hadid.

What makes you think an apartheid state like Israel is going to sway from their victim mentality? With their talking points, "But Oct 7th was the worst we've seen since the holocaust "

What about Oct 8th? 9th? 10th? 11th? 12th? 13th? 14th? 15th? 16th? 17th? And now continuing on the 18th.. THATS 11 DAYS OF PALESTINIAN/CIVILIZAN DEATH. Is that enough??? Or more death of innocents is needed?

Regardless of the source, to believe IDF or Israeli leadership decided to bomb a hospital with thousands in it, an hour after Scholz gave a press conference with Netanyahu and a day before Biden arrives, and after all the (often misdirected) criticism and warnings from allies, and the risk of more fronts from other enemies, is quite a stretch already. It requires the belief they're either very very dumb, or collectively evil af.

A people are responsible for the government they elect. If that government goes to war with another country, that country has a right to hit back.
I think Israel should have given more time to evacuate the area rather than 24 hours but when the civilians are removed from the battle

Do you have proof that this was not an errant rocket? This is the article I took the pictures for to say the hospital did not receive the damage it should have to kill the amount of people that are said to have been killed. Not only have I been involved in the operation of a hospital, I also worked at a rocket plant. As one of the engineers said, "We blew up that rocket real good." We test fire them when we play with the ingredients for the propellant. The video in the link I gave above does look to be about the same size blast as one of out test fires. The fire afterwards due to the cars burning.

I will not be wasting my time with you anymore. Got better things to do.

The rocket seemed to be going the wrong direction at first if it was targeting the hospital.
