Hammerhead Grow Journal

So, this will be my second grow. I'm currently close to the end of my first soil grow and haven't had very great success. Too many nute, watering, and mold problems. This time I'm changing it all up!!! Different grow room, grow medium, lights, and real nutes. I think I'm gonna go DWC hydro using my 150watt hps light, 2 2700k 105watt cfls, 3 5500k 105watt cfls, 4.5gal plastic tub (only for the two feminized seedlings), air pump and stone, Hanna digital ph gauge, Earth Juice Grow & Bloom, HTG Supply Overdrive, and CalMag.

Right now the feminized Hammerhead seedling is about 13 days old. I also have a feminized Big Band that's about 8 days old. They are currently in miracle grow seed starting soil 0.05-0.01-0.05. I gave the Hammerhead seedling his first dose of EJ Grow nutes today at 1/4 strength. I also have some cuttings from an unknown female sativa I'm trying to make clones. I started them about 4 days ago and they still look alive and well right now. I put them in miracle grow s.s.s. in a plastic cup with plenty of water and a clear plastic cup on top. I used Schultz rooting compound powder. I wasn't sure if this was a good method or not.

Update!!! I think Hammerhead is looking really good for 16 days old. Big Band's roots at 11 days are more shallow than I expected, so it starved a little bit. I took the tops of the cups off the clones for a few minutes today and all of the leave went from healthy green to curled up in minutes. One of the clones rotted so I'm starting another in its place.

Well, my clones keep rotting just under the soil and I'm noticing no growth after 10 days, but they are still green. So, I'm replacing them with new clippings and I'm only putting enough water in to slightly dampen the soil. Hopefully too much water was my problem. Also, do I need to keep a humidity dome over them, or would it be fine to keep them in open air with misting every once in a while? Thanks

Been giving a 1/4 strength of EJ Grow every day. Yesterday, I got about 5lbs of dry ice and put it behind a fan aimed at the plants. It worked well, they grew a decent amount overnight. And I think a clone finally grew some roots. I tried pulling up on it just a little bit to check and it was not budging. So, I took the top cup off and now I'm gonna see if it takes.

Well, I'm gonna have to re-start this grow. I can't believe I forgot to water them for 2 1/2 days last week and they shriveled up and died that fast. I feel like such an idiot, but I was working for practically two days straight and simply forgot. I'm gonna wait till the temps cool down outside before I hopefully start this again. Hammerhead seeds are kinda hard to come by from my local dispensary, but we'll see. My closets temp is pretty much whatever the temp is outside and that's not good when it's 100 degrees outside. Peace
