i am in colorado and growing mmj is legal for the first time ever for civilians. i am sure there are cops that don't like this and maybe don't feel like being forced to cooperate, not that they can do much anymore but why push them? i guess my point is, i have never worried about cops as much as plain old people, rippers. that was always the biggest threat in my mind. i went to visit a friend in colorado and he and some squatters on his property have 80+ very large plants, some in greenhouses and some just in pots outside and very visible. the sheriff even had to warn him to get them out of sight. supposedly they have mmj cards to cover the grow making it legal but i was told that if a doctor says you can grow 12 plants, 18 plants, that makes it legal while colorado statute says six with just 3 in flower at any one time.
there were about 20 people milling about smoking, drinking beer and wine, it was a "trim party" i was told, trimming off the bottom branches in a very visible way. the whole idea is to grow for resale as they are all broke, most homeless and for their use of course. this just strikes me as being very blatant about the whole thing, almost some sort of protest and very much why many still don't want mmj to be legal. i was glad to get out of there as it makes me nervous, they should be much cooler about this imo. this is many thousands of dollars sitting there that just about everyone knows about. reminds me of the milagro beanfield war. i was just looking for opinions from others that are not in the habit of advertising their grows, although if these folks can hang on to it through harvest the word is already out with customers waiting. or three big guys from the city with a pickup truck, a couple guns and a small chainsaw could clean them out in five minutes. plus the legalities involved thinking they can grow 85 plants when it is actually only 36 with 18 in flower... all 80+ are going to be in flower very soon at the same time. some times there is a good reason to be paranoid. j
