I get most of my info from Cannetics.com. I have a buddy that's a breeder there and was able to finagle a private membership where i lurk and eavesdrop on a discussion between breeders.
Cannetics has a breeder's market at Cannazon.com with auctions and forums if anyone is interested in checking it out. Gage Green and Alphakronik both have gear listed atm.
Neat! I will check it out MB!
I love getting into the discussions and asking questions... even stupid ones. But I much prefer sources where I can get all or most of my info in one place, from different people of the similar credibility and intelligence - then decipher for myself how I feel about what they say and do. That does for everything I'm involved with.
Especially with Cannabis, I have seen some breeders make very intelligent statements and then borderline idiotic ones at the same time. It's frustrating because those people do put the time and effort into the plant, and with that does comes knowledge... but they also spread a lot of propaganda with what they do and portions of it aren't true. Unfortunately, the people they reach listen to everything they say.
One day I hope canna science and marijuana breedering can be thought of as interchangeable studies and researchers can work together. Similar to how they have with hemp and have also with psychological studies of marijuana. Then I think the benefits and misconceptions of mmj and marijuana as a whole MAY be put to rest.
I have no doubt like I said that many of the commercial breeders have learned a thing or two in their time. But as I also said - you wonder what some of these (national) seed banks with hundreds of specimen from all over the world would say to this. As they take vial number 205 with 3,000 seeds of the shelf and sow a test plot with 1,000 plants to save that "landrace".
Casually jotting the results and consulting with their peers about the latest trials and findings. Makes you wonder.... are on the right path?
