Hi guys,
So this is my first hydro grow and I had some issues since I was using organic so I had to chop them off a bit earlier.
I was growing a strain that was saying 7-8 weeks and I chopped it at 45 days. The thing is I am not sure how much I lost mostly pottency since I wasn't able to detect any amber trychromes but it was looking kinda 20200216_170611.jpg20200216_170611.jpgsparkling alot.
The plant was looking very good with most of the hairs curly red, but do you think it lacks amber or heavy high in general? Because moderate, mostly night night high was my goal.

You had a minimum of 2-3 more weeks. As for couch lock probably a month. You may get a racy high from her. Those are good for getting stuff done :) At least for me.

Could I ask the breed?

Do you guys think its possible to obtain something better at this stage by curing? Except of the taste and smell..is it possible to make the plant more potent now that i cut it or curing doesn't affect that?

Good question!

Curing will make it taste and smoke better but it won't alter the high profile much. However if you age your cured product it will slowly degrade to .... @greg nr what was it you were telling CN? That cannabinoid will give you more couch lock but you're talking months to years.

For a 7-8 week strain to be ready in 7-8 would take some finding.

variations in pheno and Genotypes are used when determining certain things.

they could quote the fastest finisher for the flowering period and the highest THC tested for the % and these could be 2 very different variations of the same “strain”.

when a breeder says 7-8 weeks of flowering this is usually started counting after the onset of the buds. NOT from when you switch your light to 12/12.

because in nature the light doesn’t switch from 18/6 straight to 12/12 to induce flowering. It gradually reduces its day light hours until the right amount of day and night induce the flowering of the plants.

we switch straight to 12/12 and the plant has to try and switch it’s focus into flowering.
Usually after you switch your lighting the plant will still continue to produce new foliage for 7-18 days and it will continue to grow taller during this time.

when you see the onset of buds forming in tops then flowering has begun.

most 7-8 week strains take 9-10 weeks from the moment you switch to 12/12.

So you cut stupidly early at a little over 6 weeks and depending upon when you started counting you could be as little as 4 weeks into flowering your 7-8 week strain.

sorry to be the barer of bad news.

hope it still fulfills what you need it too tho.
