Harvest Question "leaching" ferts + rep

At harvest time can you cut of the main branches and put them in pure water (like a bouquet of flowers) to flush out the nutes?

I know you can take branches from a male pant before the balls open and do this to get it to open up its pollen packs. That way you can use the pollen but you don't have to keep the male with the females.

Wondering if this would work with a female to flush her clean.

Anyone know the facts about this?

+ Rep for help!

i havent heard of anyone doing this but i could see how this might work. seems like it would take a while though. if you flush before a harvest then this really isn't neccessary. not sure if that helped or not but that my 2 cents.

peace bro

Thanks for your thoughts. I was just thinking this would be easier for some people. Rather than putting 15-25 gal of water through a 5 gal pot they could just chop of the main stems and put them in a vase/container of pure water.

I know doing this will keep the flower alive for a while and it will suck up the water. Just not sure if it would get the nutes out.

Anyone else??

Then how do you go about geting your nutes out so your smoke tasts good without flushing your plants?
How would the nutes get out of the plant by feeding it plain water? Its not like a radiator that has a drain plug at the bottom. The fact is the nutes are metabolized by the plant as they are needed.

If it is sucking up only pure water than it would start to lake the extra nutes that has been fed to it. Flushing breaks the salt build up down to use what nutes are left available right?

Then why would MASTER growers flush there plants at harvest? Why would they wast there time. Why do ALL books say to FLUSH your plants before harvest. Why can you find TONS of threads/posts about plants that need to be flushed from giving to many nutes? Why when you over nute can you Flush your plants to leach out the salt build up and extra nutes?

I guess you are on another level unkown to me bro?
