Orange hairs were around 85 to 90 percent i think. its serious seeds ak47. I looked at the trichomes through a microscope and they were 1 percent amber. But the whole plant was kinda telling me it was done. looks great packed on alot of juicy bud real quick. after curing for a month the high only lasts for about an hour. its not very potent either. My bagseed mexican sativa hybrid keeps me blasted for two to three hours! did i pull it too early?? soil grow 600 Hps lighting. its not lacking in anything it grew beautifully!

Coloured pistils don't really tell you anything.

What you should be looking for for a peak harvest:

Cloudy trichomes (as close to 100% as possible).
Receding pistils.
Swollen calyxes.

Finally there is the overall look of the plant, but that is very hard for new growers to get a feel of, and I'd suggest you stick to the three factors I mentioned above.

If you harvested with only 1% amber and (how many % cloudy?) you should have proper bud.

Are you sure you dried and cured the bud properly?
Most people fail in drying & curing.

post some pics, I grew ak-48 and found when it flowers even with feedings the leaves start to yellow and die real early. When it was time for harvest most of the bigger leaves had just fallen off and died. or died and fallen off i should say :) Also the 1% amber could just be a random one turning wich i also had early into my flowering. Like the poster above said post some pics and we can judge then :)

Some good info with the big three about when she's ready but the drying and curing I find helps flavour/taste more than anything. I have dried some buds super fast super shitty just to check the high. Hung them from the header above the basement stairs on elastics for a day or two. Tasted like shit but still got me fucking ruined.
Swollen calyxes.
