Harvesting & drying tips

So I'm about 2 weeks away from my very first harvest (feeling proud) after getting this far I really don't want to screw things up when harvesting or drying.
Ok well I'm pretty sure I can't do much harm cutting it down (once it's ready)
But drying I'm worried about...
I plan on drying in my hot press using a Herb drying mesh thing, I've been monitoring the humidity and temps in there over the last couple of weeks to see if it's ok for drying.
The humidity has been between 38 and 43, The temps have been between 22 and 24.5. Do you think these numbers are ok? Do I need a fan in there providing some air flow? Any tips or advice for me would be appreciated, thanks.

Something i’d like to point out and feel makes a difference and doesn’t get brought up enough is post dry/cure. Storing. Making sure once your buds are in their forever container (bags jars etc) that the environment they are stored in remain in the 60Fs if possible. This will help preserve terpenes, taste, and smell longer. Good luck on drying/curing ✌.

Like the guys above said... you want to slow that dry down as much as possible. The only way to do that is to keep that 65f/60rh in check. Should take 11-13 days to dry depending on how dense your crop is, how much biomass, etc.

Also... it depends on if you're wet trimming or dry trimming. Dry trimming will let you slow it down more. Just pop off the big fan leafs, and hang in the proper environment.

Get "as close to" 60 degrees F/60% humidity as you can

The fact is, most novice home growers can't reach those conditions ambiently, or may have trouble maintaining that. . .. that's ok. But try to stay below 75 degrees F and above 35% RH at all times, even this might require ac & a humidifier depending on where you live.

The slower, the better. ...but unless you're growing competition weed or someone else's medicine for hire, try not to sweat it too much

Definitely seems the majority have the same numbers in mind so thank you all. Really glad I asked on here before I put them in there. I googled the ideal numbers but obviously Google isn't a big time grower ha ha ha and was way off with her numbers. I will move my meter and try find a better spot. Thanks again.

If you want to know how quickly or slowly its drying use your scale. Weigh a cupful of buds every day. If it loses over 20% weight the first day its too fast. Overall they lose close to 80% weight drying, try to stretch it out past a week til the weight loss is gone, then cure and burp.

Yea good info above. You don't wanna dry it faster than 4 days. 5-7 be preferable. If the humidity is gonna be in the 40s you might want chop the whole plant and hang upside down. Just watch your sticks when they start to make a splintering sound when you bend em jar the buds. If the sticks snap your really pushing it in that humidity. And like stated above, curing is super important. If you get them jarred up with moisture you will be ok. If you wait for sticks to totally snap might be to dry already
