How many hours do you leave your plant in the dark before harvest,and why are my lower popcorn buds slightly softening I'm on week 13 of a 11 to 12 week flowering plant which is ready to come down will the &ew buds toughen up

Harvest in the morning when the lights first come on. The only reason to do that is because terpene levels are slightly higher after a dark period, darkness has no effect on THC levels. The soft lower buds probably will not change much.

Harvest your tops and clear off your higher fan leafs and the larfy bottoms will finish up after another week-10days of more direct light

I harvest in three stages. Take a few ripe early buds, next trimming take a majority of the stems. Then about a week after that take the last.
8 to 14 foot tall plants harvested at once overwhelms my racks. Then when dry to touch in 70's humidity wise I put them in 3 gallon buckets.
When lower 60's is reached they are put in glass jars.
Then I brush down the buckets for kief, I use seafood bins for processing and they collect kief too.
