Try shipping some thing illegal and first and then go for legal stuff. Learn as you go man. What ever you do. Donot ship a bulb or shoes.

thanks.. yeah i know there legal.. i was kind of wondering about the weight of the ballast in the box..
just curious if there were problems with the flat rate price.. and if the boxes needed to be bigger than the ones available..

something like a ballast, with its importance, i would make the box bigger any way you can. not crazy bigger, but enough room to where you can pack some newspaper and padding in there to where it cushions all corners. shouldnt be that expensive dude. good luck

I would UPS or FedEx it as I think their rates would be cheaper.
There is nothing wrong with shipping or mailing a ballast or even a complete light kit. I ordered my stuff on-line and it came FedEx.
Its no different than shipping a computer or a toaster, just pack very well so it doesn't get damaged.
