Has anyone grown the strain "Chronic?"

hello,

I was wondering if anyone has actually grown the strain chronic.. I've got some actual growing now and want to know the best way to grow it.. the only definate thing I've found out so far that is for the strain chronic it's better to just leave it with one central cola, so no pruning..

but does anyone else have anything they could tell me about growing it so i can get maximum yield?

I plan on for the next month keeping it on 18/6 lighting... it's growing really fast btw!.. and then for another 11/2 month -2 months having it on 12/12 with some new bad ass lights.. (whenever I can afford it lol)

Could I get my plant up to around 4 feet tall you think? And how much would it yield, as well as how long would it take to get a new crop off the same plant if I kept it growing and didn't rip it's roots out? Thanks for all the help!

Hey man I don't know too much about it but I'm growing some chronic x cali orange..check out my grow log/pics its the plants in the red pots. Good luck man. You can start cloning at 2 months. I would say 3 ft plant = 2-3 oz, but not sure.

I bought some chronic seeds, gave them to a buddy, he supposedly has a great outdoor setup, I would like to know also if they do well outdoors. Should be some fine and tasty bud. Good luck.

A friend gave me a clone of chronic a few years back. I flowered it pretty small, it got maybe a foot and a half tall. It was really just one big bud sticking out of the ground. I dunno what it weighed, maybe an ounce, but it sure was killer stuff.

i plan on letting this one get 2.5 - 3 ft. tall before i switch it over to 12/12 lighting... it seems to be growing fast so i guess when it comes time to harvest it will be anywhere from 4.5-6 ft tall.... :) how much bud of da chron do you think that will give me?

i've talked to some other friends of mine that i gave seeds too that have already been growing the chronic and they said the stalks on theirs are purplish too and spreading out into the leaves like mine is so i'm not worried about it being a nutrient thing.. it's just good genetics :) pics will come soon after i get some interchanging nodes on mine or some nice colors on the leaves :)

good luck with those. I've only grown one small Chronic plant, but it was one of the best I've tried.

ok, since i've moved my chronic into its own vegging room it's actually picked up A LOT.. this thing is growing fast! And while it's about 6-8 inches tall now, it already smells!?!?!?! what the crap?!!? I have 2 plants in the flowering stage now, one of which already has a LOT of white hairs, and I can barely smell anything but the regular green smell that any plant has off them (should start smelling of weed in about a week would be my guess) but this chronic has a grand total of a dozen leaves (which now have purple just like the stem does) and it's got the green leaf smell, but also a musky smell with weed mixed in! anyone have experiences like this??

Hi LUka,

What kind of liight are you using.. there is no reason to grow a plant more than 20-24 inches tall indoors (unless you are only growing 1-4 plants under 600+ watts..

When you flower a plant it will double (or more) in size.. A 4 foot plant is HUGE!

I would loke to hear more about your grow..

lights
containers
maybe a picture :)

cheers

so you think at around 2 foot i should start flowering her? This is some damn dank seeds and i want to get the most bang for my buck you know? I'm not even going to be selling it, just smoking whoever out with some grade-a weed lol.. i can't help it, i'm a nice guy..

any guestimate on how much yeild i might get off this stinky little weed if i started flowering at 2 ft?

I've got 3 walmart lights I'm using right now in my flowering room, 2 fish/plant lights and 1 warm white bright stick.. seems to be working fine for my other plants! I think i'll add a couple CFL's when the chrons ready to be flowered

i can take clones from the side branches right? not the fan leaves of course but the ones that shoot up from between the fan and main stalk.. because I'm not going to clip the main stalk at all, i'm going to leave one central cola since I've read that's the best way to grow chronic.. good idea though I honestly hadn't even thought about it yet eventhough I have the necessary tools and rooting horomones. :)

hi luka

if you let the plant get 24 inches tall... You can pretty much clone everything on the bottom 12 inches of the plant... this should get you a SHITE load of KIDDIES... the bottom 12 inches won't give you JACK for quality buds anyways...

Garden Knowm, everyone else that may have interest in this post.. just 15 minutes ago, tragedy struck my poor chronic plant. One of the lights that was supposed to be secured.. was not and fell.. right on to the little plant of joy.. I'm about ready to cry.. I did some immideate surgery... she was growing rather fast.. and the light fell and split her at about 2/3 up the stalk.. :'( So i dashed in and removed the light.. took the plant out, surveyed the damage and did what i thought I could to possibly save her.. grabbed my knife, rooting horomone, and empty cup and some soil mixed with perlite.. I cut where it had been snapped at a 45 degree angle, sprittzed the cut with H20, dipped it in the rooting horomone, and made a make shift pot to see if she'll pull through.. I have her about 1 inch from the light now.. SO FUC*ING sad and pissed and everything right now.. she was growing so perfectly, the leaves were completely symetrical and eventhough I complained, I LOVED the fact that she smelt even though she was only a couple weeks old and 7 inches tall.. :'( why god? why?

the only good that MAY come out of this is if it turns out to be female and both pull through.. I dunno.. pray for her guys and girls!

i thought the unexpected clone was dead for sure yesterday because all the leaves had withered up, but to my surprise when i woke up this mourning she had un-withered and the top set of leaves seemed to have grown a little bit and were more upward towards the lighting! I'm not getting my hopes up yet though..
