If they are little black flies be wary they could be rot flies. Regardless just put a little fly paper or something in the growroom.

Heres a trick for fruit flies (i dont know if those are a problem with pot at all) but take a beer bottle (or any bottle really) fill it with sugar water and vinegar then place a paper funnel into the top with the bottom of the funnel an inch or more from the liquid surface. The flies will go in and not be able to get out because they have a habit of flying/crawling up.

No problem I am not sure the vinegar trap is good for the little black flies but if they have red heads they are fruit flies.

Also if you are using some sort of completly enclosed area to grow in using a square of t-shirt stretched over the exhaust and intake ports will block obvious entrances for flies as well as spores and what not. I will know if this makes a difference because i am a compulsive waterer and itll be fun to see if i get mold at all. It does seem to trap the humidity inside the box.

put the fly paper or traps up anyway. If you don't catch any fine. If you do it may help any one that advises you how to get rid of them exactly what you have. Sounds like fungus gnats to me.

Yeah I was worried that was the case too victor.

Tell you what east... Take a pic of the flies (entomology is one of my specialties) I can at least tell you what they arent from a pic.

You wouldnt be worried about the flies. Worry about the larvae that could be burrowing their way into your soil to eat your roots.

I put up some sticky paper, and am surprized that i found some red headed flys and now the leaves fomr the top sprout are white man im screwed dont know what to do but if theres no solution to the problem im gonna have to cancel it and start a new grow but mutiple plants help ?????

The flies with the red heads are fruit flies. Vinegar in a bottle. any kind will do sweeter the water/sugar/vinegar mix the more they will love it.

Also try mixing up a spray bottle with a weak ammount of tobacco and mist them to keep the bugs away from them. I will do some research on a way to kill the larvae in the soil without hurting the plant.

im whipping that fly reppellent right now, but the larvae is that whats causing the white sprout leaves on top ?

Heres something. If your plants are healthy enough you could try letting their soil dry out completly the larvae should migrate away from the roots in search of cooler damp soil at which point you might be able to pull an emergency transplant into fresh soil. I cant garantee this is a good idea as I am a new grower (of pot) myself I am merely stating the habits of the pest.

Not sure ... Load up a picture before you spray I want to be absolutly sure before you put the repellant on. i have not seen what if any negative effects it has on pot.

Keep an eye on it but that doesnt look too horrible.. Just try to take care of the flies if they go unchecked for over a week they've had enough time to have offspring.
