Has anyone used a AIT Air Injection Technology "The Spider" Airstone?

I havent had any nozzles actually plug yet but a couple have slowed down to the point I've changed them. I have lots lol. I just screw new ones in and leave the others to soak in vinegar over night. That was my biggest concern actually. I did try DWC once and it was a disaster lol. I had root soup after a couple of weeks lol. Keep us posted as to how they work, someone has to go first lol.
 
Got the Ait spiders in the mail today. Will report back with how they do.

These air stones work GREAT! Best air stone i've ever had. They don't come assembled so putting them together is a pain in the ass, but no big deal. They pump out the most even bubbles i've seen. Full water coverage. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
 
Is there any standard for how big the waterfall has to be ? Like vertical fall in inches?
Im interested in this as I would love to retire my pumps and stones I run a mix either dwc in totes or I run homemade low pressure aero I kinda have a waterfall in the aero were it falls from the tube to the res but always figure more air was better then not ebough so I put some stones in as well

Looks good Alpha! I guess the next step is will it plug up? As C$, I'm by no means an experienced grower but before switching to sprayers I introduced DO into the water by basically creating a fountain in the upper res. The water would hit the too of the res and splash all over the place. There was always about 6" of water in the tray so i would get lots of air into the water. Also the water would drain back dropping about 8" into lower res creating a waterfall. I have 3 airpumps that have not been used in two years lol. Actually I make teas so I use one .

Nice yea I switch between dwc in totes and areo.
I likem both but I do hate me some crappy stones and pumps lol

My waterfalls work with as little as an inch between fitting and water surface. For me, I think the key is constant movement, to maintain full oxygen saturation.
 
It definitley does it's job that's for sure @GrowerGoneWild

I will be using them in all my dwc buckets.

As for no air stones pumps ect, I don't use anything in my ebb n grow res, sometimes I kick on a water pump after mixing nutes to mix them up even better, but in ebb n flow tables or buckets, there is no point to adding anything to add more o2 to the water as 100\% of o2 is sent to the roots as the system drains and 100% of the old depleted o2 is pushed out during the flood. Also there is a waterfall into the control bucket and back into the res every hour on my system bongsmilie

Well I have tried all kinds of air stones the best one I got was made of lead Lolz you couldn't tell on monster dot com but to really know how much oxygen is in you water is to use a dissolved oxygen meter I used diffrent stones n got the same reading the only time I got a better reading is when I brought fresh air from outside not stail air. And when I used real oxygen tank air changed the fitting for the co2 controler and used any air stone temp of water also changed my reading.. Good luck.also metal in water changes the amount of metal apart from your nutrients that already have heavy metal partials that come up in a testing just my 2 cents :)

im like what thats the most important thing for the roots next to water lol

But is O2 needed (added). I do use passive intake so never thought about it till I started to think about adding CO2 to the room. Does the plant not add the O2 to the room? And do I not want to completely seal the room to add CO2? Not sure about all this so I thought I'd ask lol. I bought the controller then started to think about heat, ventilation, etc. Lots to consider lol.

Yes I have also thought of this as well and every system that requires air bubbles always preformed better when the air supply for the bubbler was fresh air
the way I want to build my next room is totally sealed I will control all airflow.
My res bubblers will just have longer lines so I can places them on the outside of the room

no real science to back it but I believe it would make a diff
and for as little air as your add you wont need to worry much about losing co2

I just want my roots to be as happy as possible and im never set in some ways I allways try to improve
 
From my grows fresh air is need no mater what stail air sux yes there is o2 being emitted but I noticed better o2 in my water with fresh air by 1.0 increase to 6.8 verses 6.8 wich is not good also 5 minutes on every hour of fresh air keeps my room in tip top but I been there with theories n I just balls upp n buy the meater n do my own test what I noticed is life is full of liers n great propaganda n I'm not trusting a mother fucker with out hard evidence..I noticed better flower formation n growth with 1 hr no outside air exchange to 6 inch inline fan bringing air in 5min also vise versa air out just my two cents but I been there leaf o2 exchange sux not enough for me give me one ill test it with a meter under many scenarios .. What's to say the level of o2 is the same with ur 5 dollar stone :)

I'll have to get a o2 water meter some time. Are those expensive? I try to have at least 2watts per gallon of water for my dwc, I run 41w for 6 3 gallon buckets that hold 2.5 gallons of water. Not sure of the o2 in the water though, I'd like to know what it is.
