Has the Hempy evolved?

I also thought I would try this method after reading JapanFreak's thread. I have a #1 feminized Queen Kush (a freebie from Attitude) that I germed in rockwool.

View attachment 1303381 She was then placed in DWC for almost 2 weeks until she had a fair amount of roots showing.

View attachment 1303385View attachment 1303386She is now in a 1 gallon bucket with perlite and a tablespoon of Osmocote on a 24/0 and IMO she looks great!!!
Cool, looks healthy. Glad you are trying it out!

I've had good success germinating/cloning in rockwool -> transfer to larger cube -> transfer to sonic cup -> sonic cup sitting on top of bucket. It gives the plants more root depth and directs the water over the entire root structure every time you feed.

I can't remember where I learned this from but I'm not the first but the results are great. I'm sure it's covered in the hempy collective threads a bunch too.

Gotcha - yeah, those can be used in many different ways - drain to waste is nice for simplicity, but I don't think straight hydroton would hold enough water for that, so you'd have to have several cycles per day off a res if you want to use that as a medium.
Shouldnt the res hold them for 24? At the very least flush twice a day.

I have heard of that method before, it was called bogging.

Hempy buckets are pretty bad ass, i was able to pull it off in 100F+ temps without roting my roots. kinda went off and did my own way of hempy but same theory. OC+ is a good fert, so is dynamite red or purple. i tested all three. DM red did the best for sure but you must add cal/mag. OC+ is a great fert that has all the micros you need but seems to be more effected by temps then the dynamite stuff. but the end results with the TRF's and hempy and leds grow me some pretty big plants for being in 100F+ the whole grow. as of right now i have 4 Casey Jones plants in a 50/50 coco/soil with DM red and stuff called mater magic, so we will see what happens in bloom?

hope you dont mind the pics? but her are 6 plants i grew using these nutes in my Hempy creation and leds with 100F+ temps threw the whole grow and allot of other bad condition's i dont want to think about.lol. these are just a few branches!

thank you sir. not to bad for hempy, TRF's and leds in 100F+ temps with spider mites and a sativa that wouldn't flower until i changed the lights to 10/14 witch should have hurt my yield..lol.. i could only imagen how much bigger they would have been without the 100F+ temps the whole grow with mites.

although i got rid of the mites in 2 days!! they still did some work on my plants. No Pest Stripes... FTW!!!

I haven't seen the OC+ organic, but I'm sure the one for fruits would be good. So long as it doesn't have too much N - you don't want overly leafy buds. I'm going to give it a go again - I had problems on my last grow, but I think it was because I used too much.

You can also put it in a net bag or pantyhose and bury it, then water in that spot. If you want to flush, or stop using it so you can add flowering nutes, just pull the bag.
