Hello guys!

I have some good hash which i scored from season 09-10 some of it is still left(thanks to my hiding habits;)which i found recently in one of my bags.It was wrapped up very nicely in thin plastic strip over and over. Now what has happened is the hash has completely dried up it has become almost powdery whereas when it was fresh it had lot of moisture and oily feel to it,was nice and sticky! How can i make it a bit sticky? Please recommend me some oil i can mix or rub it with to get the same texture again.Love the sticky feel to the hash on a cold winter morning, crumbling it. :)
Thanks in advance.

I’m actually looking a fairly big chunk of hash I’ve had for about a year, I kept it in a dispensary container that had a rubber gasket that fit the opening of container and then it had a threaded cap that I had nicely tight. After I opened it like 5 minutes ago I didn’t think it would have gotten so hard. I tried using my fingers to press and see if I could soften it up that way. It didn’t seem to work so I lightly warmed it 5g chunk up with a lighter. But I stopped doing that because it started to crumble and it was only very small pieces that broke off. So I think what I’m going to try is to roll it around my palms and try forming a round ball. Then I’m gonna put it in a plastic ziplock bag and before I seal the bag I’m going to use a spray bottle and select the smallest mist possible. I am then going to lightly mist the interior part of bag making sure I can visually see the hash is completely covered. Once I do this I will expel as much of the air from the ziplock bag and place it in the freezer. To me my logic is telling me if the water softens the outer layer of the hash and when the water starts to create H2O crystals and when you remove the bag from the freezer amd open the bag so the warmer air melts the crystals inside the hash , you should be able to press amd knead it in your hands and by fingers and when kneading it the extremely minuscule amounts of water with evaporate while squeezing the hash together and thus giving the hash a consistently of a soft but also still obtaining a firmness you have come to love. Well I hope this helps.

Sorry to necro an old post, but for anyone looking for some tips to freshen up old, dryed out hash, here's what I do:

My guy sometimes has some old dryed up hash for sale for a pretty low price and i sometimes buy a couple of grams when I'm a little strapped for cash. Over time I found a pretty decent method to get it nice, pliable and sticky again:

1. Coat the hash in water ( it will repell water somewhat, but just coat it with your fingers) - not too much, you don't want it dripping wet, just coated
2. Wrap the slightly wet hash in waterproof plastic ( a good ziplock bag or the corner of a garbage bag works pretty well), make sure there are no tears or holes!!!
3. Submerge the plastic wrapped hash in 60 -70° (Celsius) water for 3 - 5 minutes
4. Take it out, dry the bag, remove hash and start kneading it thoroughly (it will be quiet soft)
5. Let it cool down and test its' pliability
6. If it's still too hard / dry, repeat step 1 - 5 (depends on how old your hash is)
7. I usually keep it wrapped in plastic overnight, so the moisture can really get into the hashs plant material without evaporating

With this method I was able to freshen up really, really old and dry hashish to the point where it felt like it was made yesterday. The logic behind it is this:

Most of you probably know that hashish still has a lot of plant material in it's content. Because of that, fresh hashish still hast al lot of moisture in it. Not the 60 % watercontent of weed, but it still hovers around 30 -40 %. When hashish gets old, that moisture content evaporates and the remaining oils harden. the hardened oils can simply be made pliable again by heat and kneading, but refreshing the moisture content really does the trick.

Hope this helps!
