I believe t-5 are better than t-8. If t-5 are available get them instead.
Mylar I would say is everyone best freind. If possible buy some from sears.
 
bah no, they don't have Mylar.

Matter of fact, when it comes to lights, they don't have much.

Will these t-8's work. How many am i needin.
 
The makers claim that certain T5s are roughly three to four times more effective than a standard fluorescent bulb of similar wattage.
You may be better with 85w CFL.
 
T8 or T10 shop lights you will need 8 or 10 tubes for maybe 1-2 plants.
I would say use either t-5 if possible or high watt cfl (some of the cfl are t-5)
 
Well wait now.. according to certain sources, fluorescent bulbs put out 60-70 lumens per watt.

So for 40 watts thats 2400. meaning 4 of them is 9600 lumens.

thats more then enough for a 15 foot sqaure foot area if i'm not mistaken
 
When marijuana plants are in veging they need alot less light then when they are flowering. I would say maybe somewere 90 watts a plants ie (a possible is 2 of the 42watt cfl's) because cfl are 5 times as efficient are normal lights when flowering.

edit:build a reflecter also
 
i am currently using t8's for my grow, and 1 13w cfl, but i'm planning on getting atleast 3 or 4 more cfl's or higher wattage. you can check out my grown journal and see how mine is looking. maybe help you out with your decision.
