hey mates,

i have had this digital ballast for a year now. the issue is that every-time lights come on, the dig ballast is taking longer and longer to turn or kick on. i am thinking it may not come on anymore very soon, as of what i have come by.

anyone with this issue before?

i have turned everything else off for a few mins then plugging in the ballast. still....this time 5 mins to kick on.
the power strip works fine.

i don't understand exactly whats wrong. aside from system failure, current block/ slow uptake?, or....?

i talked to a buddy of mine at a family hydro store. he recommended on doing what i did, kill all other power and as we know..it failed.
he said hes not heard of it but that reg ballasts are better in the long run and will give me a new 1k combination ballast for 160.$ norm 230.$ if i dont get this fixed, that is. better then nothing, but i would rather save the cash.

sounds like a bad capacitor or ignitor assuming u are letting ballast cool off for 5-10 minutes before restarting they have to do this before relighting
i had to replace both caps on my 2 hps they would come on then shut off minutes later cost like $5 for a cap and u can order ignitors online
i really suspect the ignitor but while u at it i would replace both cap and ign

thanks. yes, i let it cool. i was thinking it was the igniter as well. i cant find info on replacing an igniter in a digital ballast. what i did find says its not the best idea or as easy as an magnetic ballast. but thanks mate, for the feedback. rep and all.
