Hey guys, I'm kinda struggling with whether or not I should throw out this autoflower I got going, simply to make room for something more worthwhile. I have plant limits.

Here she is, leafy mess:

It smells like "sweet dirtweed". Totally uninspiring, bland, and quite frankly I don't even want to waste time trimming this.

I'm still quite new to growing & am just curious if any of you, more versed and experienced than me, have ever struggled with doing this. It seems stupid, sure, but I'm mostly concerned about having proper quality smoke, and from what I can tell this plant is just not something I'm probably gona smoke. There's hardly any "frost" to speak of so I think even a hash run would be a waste of time with this.

Opinions please? Thanks folks.

Funny enough, i also thought it looked a bit overfed but I've always given it the "light" feed schedule. And it's only in 1gal coco fed once a day.

Ok cool, thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll try to remember to post it here when it's done, in case any other growers are struggling with tossing a blandie

I would run lighter on your feedings.

I grew a banana kush auto, and would also say it grew nicely (I think- I was new, too) but it was lackluster in smell and flavor. Had photoperiods around the same time that were bombastic in smell and flavor, and after all types were harvested and cured, I gave away the auto stuff. The high was not enjoyable either.
But, that’s what I hear about most run-of-the-mill autos (mine was from ILGM). Heard Mandalorian does great auto breeding.

If feeling time/space pressed, maybe just chop and turn it into edible?
1oz by-weight flower, ground or rough chopped, to 1 qt. virgin Coconut oil, in a crockpot on low, no lid or stir frequently, for ~4hrs. Strain and jar up.

Good luck with whatever you choose

I've taken over cuts from people saying it's "bland" and shitty performing. Kept one of those cuts for three years, the dude thought I was lying when I showed him the results.

So you never know, that plant is struggling and underperforming because of being way overfed.
@PopAndSonGrows -I think I probably overfed the auto I grew a couple years ago, as well. Was new at the time. But you might have an early-gen auto strain, too.

I’ve had numerous times where the smell didn’t carryover after harvest
I have also had regrets over taste that was fantastic but didn’t show till harvest
I almost always take a plant for two runs
But since you are growing autos
I wouldn’t hesitate moving on
No, not growing autos. . ..just AN auto  lol. I was holding a single bean, had space in my 2x2 and thought "why not". . ... No more autos after this----welllll i do have one last pack of FastBuds, after that though no more actively shopping for autos.

Those are some fat colas for an auto...how far into flowering is it? If it's just 3-4 weeks into flowering i say let it ride a couple more...if ur 7weeks into flowering, kill that fukr
Onset of flower was 3/15, so just into week 5? This was a "75 day auto" now on day 91, and that's no surprise I know the deal with breeder specs. ...

I say let it ride a bit brother. Many of my plants dont 'stank' for god knows whatever reason but the final product works as medicine. Killing it now will rob you of vital experience new growers need. I know plant limits and space, but exp. is crucial to further your growing, even if you gotta take a hit for a few weeks.

Fair enough

I do have a couple photoperiod testers behind it, which aren't super fragrant either but they're frosty as all hell even at week 3-4. They smell great if I disturb a leaf, unlike the auto which still gives me nothing

I toss anything that doesn't meet at least my lowest standards. Everyone is different, do what's best for you and your space. If you need space that it's taking up right away then cull it, if not and you don't mind putting the rest of the effort in then finish it.
