Have you successfully made RSO/Phoenix Tears/Cannabis Oil? Let's talk

i use Simpson's method with ISO.
i heard scary things about using the naptha unless it's the more expensive stuff as it might contain bad things...I don't want to sound like Peter...
 
Full plant extraction.. 30 day soak in ethanol.. Popular in Oregon clubs.. More than THC is infused. If the solvent grabs the THC first... It doesn't put it back when the other beneficial parts of the bud is dissolved? Do two washes if you want two grades. Why throw away the rest of the medicine....filtering for molds??? Don't start with moldy cannabis....supercritical Co2 and ethanol are the only 2 Safe ways.. I've made both.. Co2 isn't decarbed so it will results in thca oil. Still works medicinally although a larger dose is needed. Ethanol costs 20 times the price of isopropyl and that's why people cheap out. It will cure the cancer but any residual is a real health hazard and not worth the few hundred bucks savings. Don't ever eat butane.. Anyone says otherwise is poisoning you. Saying "I'm not dead after eating poison" is not science. It is total ignorance. Eat cannabis oil with unpasteurized honey as a digestive aid.
 
my post on another forum... ok...here goes...grind yer bud up into joint sized pieces...let dry well...toss into freezer with a gallon of 99%ISO in seperate containers...leave in freezer for at least 24 hours...then pour iso into bud and put back into the freezer for 15 mins after a good shake...I use plastic 200 gram tobacco containers( the frozen herb will not release chlorophyll into the liquid, hence the tast and concentration of THC/CBD is higher )...take bud out and strain into a separate container ( I use cheese cloth and elastic bands on the tobacco container) let this liquid stand for a couple hours at room temp..the sediment and dirt should be almost settled...use a small siphon hose and start filtering the liquid from the top(will be cleaner and save on filters and is a faster process)...once filtered pour liquid into rice cooker...place cooker on a table in the yard/well ventilated area...cook liquid down until you start to see big bubbles...add 5 or 6 drops of water and watch closely...cook for another few mins then pour liquid into small glass/pyrex container...place container on coffee maker warming tray with a mason jar lid or similar to keep glass from element...slow cook until there is very little iso left...a drop on a pin placed over a flame will tell you how clean it is...if it flares...back to the coffee machine...if it just drips...its good to go..do this test over the glass container for safety...no need burnin' yer house down.......hth


with an upgrade.... and a new tek for rso we have devised...fill a 5 gal bucket 1/2 full...drop in freezer along with iso...after its cold dump iso in to cover herb...give a good stir then back into the freezer for 15-20 mins...take a piece of screen and wire that to the bucket top...strain into a 2 gal ice cream bucket and continue as above.....makes large runs faster and less labor intensive...I should add its way less cost to buy iso by the 5 gal pail...if you do runs like I do...hth

I use butane w/ water bath then into a vac purge system. Still refining the method it seems lol but I got my first batch of bho butter last night after 3 days. Wouldn't have taken so long if I didn't have to leave for work. I don't let it sit on any heat if I'm not there. I go from heat to cold water then back to heat several times while maintaining a vac at all times.

30 days?...sounds completely unnecessary, after soaking that long I doubt there would be any plant matter left to strain out. Maybe that's what your aiming to achieve?

Ya cant drink Ethanol either!!..lol...you dont have a clue.

Butane is really just highly refined propane and naptha is lamp oil, burns clean enough for indoor use. I've never heard of naphalene...just looked it up..same thing

A more refined version of naptha is kerosene

Oh and I hope your kids dont like jello or gummy candies...

Ethanol is just the name of drinking alcohol. This is the type of alcohol consumed in wine, beer and liquor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol
