Having trouble differentiating!

Hey guys. I have an outdoor plant, whose strain is unknown (bag seed), with some odd behaviors! I'm having trouble deciding whether it is a phosphorus deficiency or root problems. Check it out.






At first I thought it was tip burn but it's obviously not just on the tip.

Currently it's reaching temps outside of 95 or higher during the day and maybe mid 70s at night. She is planted in a 5 gallon bucket and gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. I have been using ph'd water with general hydroponics floragro on its "aggressive vegetative growth " schedule which is 3 tsp per gallon. (I have heard its best to alternate watering with nutrients and watering with plain ph'd water, any thoughts?)

If I had to make an educated guess I would guess root problems are being cause by how hot it gets and since I've heard plastic buckets absorb extra heat. I can't be sure. And if this is the case, I've heard bio weed is good for heat control?


Sorry for the extra long post. It's part of my first grow so I'm pretty nervous.

You think it's early signs of Potassium deficiency or possibly excess Calcium? I think it's nothing.

It just kind of happened randomly, that's why I'm worried. I went in to work at like 3 and she was green and by the time I got home like at 1 am she had all the brown spots.

Can we get a photo of the whole plant? That is a quick digression I see why you're concerned.

It looks like moisture accumulation from humidity at night then being burned by the intense heat/light from the sun, or perhaps water from watering with the same scenario.

Did you just move it outside recently? I had the same thing happen to my plants right after putting them outside, but it passed quickly and they look great now.

I should also add that I recently had sprayed my plants with organocide 3 in 1 garden spray on it. And coincidentally I also sprayed it in my actual garden. It caused major discoloration of the leaves on my tomatoes and Thai basil. However, I do have other veggies and about 7 bag seed plants hidden in my garden and they are doing fine, even after spraying the organocide.

Nah it's been outside since March.

It very well could be that. It's very humid in south Texas.

Overall your plant leafs look healthy... if anything maybe Calcium, which also help with heat stress. I think it will be fine

So should I get a calcium supplement? Like calimagic or?

I wouldn't... not yet at least. Mine got to this point when it started getting hot in the first pic. Couple weeks later and they have recovered fully with no changes to the nutes.

Thanks so much man, that is awesome your plant recovered! I will keep a close eye on my plant. Would it be wise to alternate watering with plain water and nutrient water?

I'm not quite experienced enough to say for sure, but I can tell you I do exactly that. I mixed the natural soil with amendments, and only use nutes about every other watering. With how it's working for me so far, I'm gonna keep that going. Will probably add a couple things to the mix once going into flower. By the way... I'm in SC and the temps here are upper 90's right now and very humid, so I know what you are saying!

Don't know if anyone is still watching this thread. And my situation has gotten way better but every so often I get the brown spots still on just a small amount of leaves (usually ones that aren't too close to bud sites). My plant is still bountifully growing like nothing is wrong though. But I'm seeing preflowers and since flowering is such a critical stage in the growth, I don't wanna mess it up.

I have been using the whole gh floratrio on its drain to waste schedule for aggressive vegetation. Should I take it back a notch? Or since it's pre flowering should I switch the schedule to transition to bloom?

I've also been alternating watering with/without nutes.

But I might add, that I have not been ph balancing it. For some reason, one drop of either ph up/down makes it race to one end of the scale. So i leave it with regular tap water. Could this be the problem? And if so, why are the ph adjusters making my ph shift so high or low? It wasn't doing that when I first used them at the end of spring.
