im new to this and all, so i could be wrong, but when i read your little description under your photo, you said you would force a clone of your female (if you get a female) into a male. i was under the impression that if a clone came from a female, it will be a female, and if it came from a male, it will be a male. i never knew there was a way you could 'force' one or the other from the same plant... unless you get a hermi... but, that would be different.
again... could be wrong, just my thoughts

Ok i'll start over! Just keep in mind that the line of work I do along with my family life, and my grow op, only allows me about 2-4 hours of sleep a day, so there is a possibility I may have said it wrong the first time.
If the Columbian Red Block is a female she'll be my mother plant. I'll take some clippings for clones.
Some clippings will be used for my personal stash (grow).
Some clippings will be used for seed production.
The other clippings will be forced into becoming males stricktly for it's pollen. I'll take that pollen and pollinate the female clippings (above) so that I will have seeds (to sell, give away or what ever). I'll also pollinate a haze plant for a new breed of weed.
If the Columbian Red Block is a male then I'll collect it's pollen and pollinate a female Haze plant for a new breed of weed.
This make a little better since? I hope so because it makes my brain spin just thinking about it (lol).

yeah vote it clarifies it alot, but I agree with slam although I have grown for 10 years on and off. I have never seen a person induce a female clone into turning into a male. I guess you could stress the plant into turning into a male. drop a line and tell us how you do it.

High amounts of Phosphorus can induce male flowers. This is an art that is not practiced by many anymore since the introduction of Gibberellic Acid, but if the right conditions exists it can and will happen.
Basically what happens is the plant is put in a state of shock per say, just like erratic lighting will do the same, causing the plant in time to induce male flowers. This is not an easy thing to do (Phosphorus) without killing your plants. Like I said above, this is an art that is not practiced by many anymore since the introduction of Gibberellic Acid
There are only three ways to induce male flowers on a female cannabis plant that I know of.
1. High amounts of Phosphorus.
2. Erratic lighting.
3. Gibberellic Acid.
Out of the three, Gibberellic Acid is the only real way to do this anymore because it is faster and safer for the plant.

nice vote very nice, hope everything works out with them. ive been doing some reading on gibberellic acid and its uses on weed plants other than induceing male flowers. like germing seeds, and for plant growth. there is alot of info out there for other types of plants, but very little for MJ. if you have tried or know anything about what im talking about and can point me in the right direction it would be a huge help.

Some where around my house I have some books on this! I'll dig them up later tonight and get back at you! Been awhile since I have done this, so i'll have to bone up on this myself.

Just wondering. Why use Phosphorus when you could use the Acid? If its safer and faster than why not?

looking forward to hearing back from you vote. dont guess you know about the uses of promalin on marijuana do ya? promalin has gibberellic acid in it aswell as a few other hormones. it sounds like a more stable way of useing gibberellic acid for plant growth.

Found this on the net. Similar to how I remember it.
Inducing Male Flowers / Crossbreeding
It is possible to cross your favorite two female marijuana plants to create a new strain of seeds that will produce all female marijuana plants. Preferably, these two marijuana plants will be different types of plants, not from the same mother’s seeds.
This will create the best offspring, since it will not lead to inbreeding. It is easier to gauge the quality of female plants than male plants, since the smoke is more potent and easier to judge it’s finer qualities. Plants from seeds created in this fashion will be all female plants since there will be no chance of male chromosomes from female parents.

Use Gibberellic Acid on one branch of a female plant to induce male flowers. Gibberellic Acid is sold by nursery supply houses for plant breeding and hybridizing. Spray the plant once every day for 10 days with 100 ppm gibberellic acid. When the male flowers form, pollinate the flowers of your other target female plant you have selected. Just pollinate one branch unless you want lots of seeds!
Once the branch has male flowers, cut the branch and root it in water, with glass under it to catch the male pollen when it drops. Use a rooting solution similar to the above cloning solution.Collect the pollen with a plastic bag over the branch and shake it. Use a razor blade to scrap up fallen pollen and add it to the bag too.
It is also possible to pollinate the flowers of the plant you create the male flowers on, crossing it with itself. This is used to preserve a special plants characteristics. Cloning will also preserve the plants characteristics, but will not allow you to store seeds for use later. Crossing a plant with itself can lead to inbreeding problems, so it may not be the optimum solution in many cases.

thanx for the info, but thats for induceing males tho. im looking for something more on the plant growth side of things. ive found a few links that you might dig. and may help u out some.
