Haze plant; too early to transplant?

Hi All,

This is my first post on the site...

I have been doing my research on this site for a month or two now, and love roll it up, its the best resource bar none for the new grower, and did you know if you go to Google, and type in, site:rollitup.org then a space and whatever you are looking for you get a google search back just for the site, made my life wonderful!!!

Anyway I am two weeks into my first grow, and everything is going pretty well. Im growing out two Utopia Haze plants, one of which is really strong, and looks like growing into a great and very healthy plant, and two bagseeds, one of which is also doing very well, and looks like a healthy plant...
The problem is that when i was planting my germinating seeds into soil i ran out of containers, and had to plant the last seedling into a smaller then your average yoghurt pot container. I taped it up so the roots aren't exposed, but ironically, it has of course turned out to be my healthiest looking U Haze, and the roots have hit the bottom already, and are staring to hit the sides of the container.

My Question; is it too early to transplant the seedling into a larger container, and can i, after 2 weeks, transplant it into the final size 2-1/2 gallon pot i am going to use, i think i read somewhere that you should not transplant up to drastically bigger pots each time, which doesnt make too much sense to me, my gut says size doesn't matter (and so does my girlfriend hehe).

Also i want to transplant as early as possible, because i didnt add Perlite when originally planting, and i have managed to get hold of some now., just seems like could possibly still be too early, and the plans still a little too fragile?

Help!

Theres a pic of the size of the pot also.

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Thanks

But if i leave it in that small pot for another few weeks, while the roots are trying to expand and cant for lack of space, wont that stunt it as well?

you are meant to transplant when it has formed a root ball in that size container then put it in a larger container, training the plant to make a root ball as soon as possible helps the plant to grow roots that take up the space in whatever container you put it in more efficiently , instead if you put a small plant in a large container / pot the rots grow more sporadically downwards to the bottom then back upwards , the advantage will be seen later on when a plant with a more efficient rootball structure will have less issues with becoming root bound in its container

I am by no means a pro.... but I just transplanted a WWxBB the very same size into a 4gallon pot of ocean forest-perlite mix 9 days ago and it has gone NUTS!!!!! so all I can say is.... be gentle with her of course.... but from my experience... which isn't much it can be done with great success

She looks pretty small still. Id wait a week or so at least, then go to a 1 gal or something, then to your final pot. good luck and good growing
