Haze VS Hydro

Haze is a sativa. There are a lot of strains that are hybred with the haze plant to produce a clean sativa high.

are there any differences between growing in soil compared to hydro, in yield terms?
not that i'm aware of - i think the biggest difference is hydro can pretty dramatically shorten the vegetative time. But that is according to my soil growing buddies - i've never tried it myself. I started with hydro and am still trying to get a handle on that

I have another question. Do female weed plants produce seeds at all?
excerpt from something i wrote....
===
Flowering - As we learned earlier, Cannabis is dioecious. This means the plants are either male or female. A single plant can also have both male and female flowers and is called a hermaphrodite - but we'll learn more about that condition later.

During flowering, males start to develop their flowers that will soon fill with pollen. Because pollen is necessary for seeds, the male plant usually (but not always) begins flowering first. Male flowers are easily recognized as they are pale green or red/purple in color and look like little balls. Once the balls fill with pollen and the pollen is released, the male plants die.

Female flowers (or buds) have two small, fuzzy white hairs coming out of modified leaves called bracts and bracteoles. These modified leaves enclose the developing seed and form into dense groupings called buds. The most noticeable difference between early male and female flowers is males lack the two fuzzy white hairs called stigmas.

These flowers continue to bloom and grow until fertilized with pollen. After fertilization, seeds begin to form and grow. Flowering usually lasts two months but that depends a lot on the genetic strain and growing conditions.

Seed Set - is the final stage and is only reached by pollinated females. The male plants have already withered and died. Female plants that have been pollinated, produce more and more seeds that take from ten days to five weeks to develop and mature. Once seeds are finished being produced, the plant dies and drops its seeds.

Female plants that have not been pollinated grow big resinous buds without seeds called sinsemilla. Sinsemilla means "without seeds" in Spanish.

hope this helps...

That was great info! So that means as long as I have no males I will have no seeds. not even a couple? I thought the only type of weed that didnt produce seed was Hydro. I just learned somthing new.

hydro that you may be thinking of is a common name for commercial weed in America.

Hydro is like taking regs and growing it better. You get hydro.

Oh, so if I take some really good bag seed and grow it really good when I harvest I can call it hydro? Because where im from if you have weed that has a potient smell and no seeds they call that hydro or haze. If I have all female plants none of them will produce seed right? so I can say its hydro or haze.

wow you guys dont even know the difference between a method of growing and a strain name..better read up on the very very basics of gardening before thinking of growing as thats more basic then even digging the hole in the dirt. Hydro is a method of growing where the grow mediumis water and usually involves rockwool and hydroton. Haze is a specifi strain of weed no relation to a growing method at all.Hydro grows allow much faster grows in a more controlled environment. Yield is a variable as in hydro you can grow smaller plants but in less time in larger amounts. Soil takes up more room and is a lot slower to grow figure at least 3-4 weeks differnt in grow times minimal. In my aero setups I veg 10-12 days in soil for same size plants I have to veg 30-50 days in soil.Aero I harvest in 5 weeks flower soil will run minimal 7-14 weeks.

Oh and as far as seeds.. a pure female wont have seeds unless male pollen gets on the female pistol hairs or if the female is a hermie it can pollanate itsself. Sensimillia is translated to meaning "no seeds or without seeds".As long as your get a confirmed female and no pollen no seeds

Thanks for the help, you tought me somthing new. So that means every bag of weed I buy is from a hermie plant. Because theres alwalys at least 1 or 2 seeds in it. No matter where I go to buy it. Unless I buy hydro:hump:. Thats my favorite!! Thanks for the help again.

remember - hydro means grown without soil - the strain doesn't matter. In fact, you can buy hydro tomatoes at the grocery store - hydro is short for hydroponic.
