Health Stone?

Just was wondering if anyone has one or knows much about them? How are they vaporizing when they apply a torch directly on to the concentrate..? Or am I missing something here?

I had one for a while their nice at fist but it kills your torch and personally I feel like it made me cough a lot more. Go for a titanium domeless nail.

they are ok, it vaporizes-by allowing the oil to seep into the pores of the stone then thats hot enough to vaporize the oils, though im sure you get some combustion when lighting? Sometimes got a little ash (bubble/bho) and secondly the taste was awkward to me (butane) and finally Ti/ Quartz glass for the win!

Health stones are best used with a handheld triple flame torch with refined butane.

The idea is to light the lighter, and come in from very high, slowly lowering the points of the flame(s) towards the concentrate, as you get closer the extract will melt into the pores of the stone, and vaporize.

This technique is kind of tricky, if you get to close with the flame, you scorch and it tastes horrid.

I can verify, it rips HUGE clouds..but if you scorch, or use a Bic style flame, or cheap butane in your torch...

The taste is horrendous.. I still fuck up with the flame once in a while and, ugh!

Calling it” foul” is pretty accurate...disgusting fits better, though:)

Ahh I see I see, seems kinda interesting to use. I see they sell the stone pieces for ~$25 online. I just like how it seems more convenient to use especially on the go.

Sir dabslalot is correct about the usage of these stones, right on the money, I just wanted to step in and point a couple things out about healthstones

1. They are rebranded "carbide ceramic hot gas filters". A google search of this term will bring up several lab suppliers that will sell you a similar sized carbide ceramic stone disc of identical properties for .5-2.5 USD. Dont pay healthstone brand a greater than 1000% markup for a subpar solution.

2. Because the carbide ionizes easily in plasma (like from a flame), the hot air they filter tastes like metal and is pretty harsh. Using a "fritted glass disc", available from the same places as the carbide hot gas filters for about $5 (they are used the same way in lab settings), will prevent this and taste a lot better, esp if you are using it to dab concentrates. They are made of grains of loosely sintered borosilicate glass.

Either way, you can get really efficient vaping from herb or oil on the go, and all for a fiver or less.

Where is a good site to get a fritted glass disc Vlad? Also what size would I be looking for roughly?

Any worries to the borosilicate glass eventually fragmenting or anything? Leading to bits of inhaled particles?

@my new friend Vlad.

My friend, I can't seem to find the fritted discs at the cost you speak of.

My findings have all led to 60-100$ for fritted discs,, maybe I'm searching wrong terminology?
From your compilations, I've decided the fritted disc sounds very appealing, but I can't find em.

lab planet, chemglass, I can vouch for either of these vendors for fritted discs. avoid buying these from AMA or eBay, the resell cost is too much, but any good lab supplier will have what you want for around five bucks. get extra course grade, and wide enough to cover your bowl but not fall out, for me 20-25 mm, measure your own before ordering. the frit does crumble with extended handling, which can occur when your using it to vape herb as you are constantly removing and replacing it to fil the bowl, but for dabbing oil it just stays there and so doesn't really get handled enough to crumble. in any event, if you use a water pipe, the small grains that may get knocked off will be too heavy to float and will collect harmlessly in the water. without a water pipe, the glass particle might lodge in your throat and be quite irritating. the particles are too heavy to make it to the lungs and cause real problems, but I recommend a water filter (or a metal pipe screen gauze in your bowl) to catch any stray grains when using the fritted disc method.
