heat problems please help

i just put my 400hps light in my grow closet but the heat has jumped up to over 100 f am installing am inlet fan with cold ayr the nite but cant fit an extraction as i dont have piping yet is there any othere way i can cool the rooom or light down ???

for something extremely temporary you can put a bowl of ice behind a fan in ur box then the ice will cill air a bit and the fan will circulate all the air. but i would only use that if you were goin to go get tubing today cuz im sure the ice would melt fast

While the light is on you can open up the door. Then close it when the Hps is ready to turn off.

your plants will love the 100 degree temps.

take your inlet fan and make it your exhaust fan...then make your fresh air just a passive air inlet....you should see a dramatic decrease in your room temps

i aint got any pipe work yet getting the mora defo need to get this exhauste fan done

have use got any tips on how to make a fan quieter little to noisy people i stay with will hear ??

i would like to hear some ideas on the noise as well.

hahaha the only thing we have been able to do is make sure its not touching a hard object. like setting it on a table or against a plants pot or a wall or something hard. we always make sure there is something soft to set it on. put it on a towl or something soft between the 2 hard surfaces. that will keep it from making noise from vibrating against something hard. we ran into a problem with heat yesterday cuz we added more light to our grow space, so we ran a duct to the window to suck cool air into the grow room. we put the duct right up against the fan and it made alot of noise so we taped it on but left a 1/2 inch gap from the ducting to the fan. the tape covers the gap, seals the fan and duct, and also acts as something soft to reduce the vibration noise. and not to mention keeps our space alot cooler.

You could get a hooded light and vent the heat directly from the bulb which means you can get your plants closer to it without burning them. i use an intake fan (4") and an extraction fan (4") in my room (1m x 1m x 2m) The actual intake fan is attached to 4" piping and i can move it around my room (it sits between 4 plants in the middle of the room) it is sitting behind another fan which circulates it around the room with another fan at the side of the room blowing the air around the tops. this top fan vibrates a bit so i have it on a timer with the intake fan to 12-12 with the lights. If you can get your intake fan to suck in the cold scottish air we have just now i think you can get your temps down but you need the extraction asap. run your light at night too if you can... I always find its easier to manage temps and it costs less in electricity as its off-peak time!
