Do CFLs or LEDs give off any heat signature that can get them a warrent?

No......Your PC, or TV puts out more heat.

they look for large groups and patterns that resemble grow ops when it comes to heat sigs doesnt necassarily have to be a extreme heat source, but i was reading somewhere that the federal govt. put a ban on using infrared to detect grow ops in peoples houses because of legalization of it on a state wide basis i dont know if it only pertains to states where your aloud to grow or not but something worth looking into

it's not because of legalization or anything, it's because cops started using it to look at every house with FLIR, and the supreme court still believes in our rights.

LED's give off virtually no infrared due to how they are constructed (they give off a very specific spectrum), CFL's are similar, although they give off some infrared, it is far less than an incandescent bulb.

just goes to show. the number one way for you to get caught is to talk to people about it who dont need to know. and by that i mean only one or two people should ever know everything about a grow.
