Heat sink for strip lights.

Hi

I've got 9 x BXEB-L0560Z-30E2000-C-A3, and plan to stick them on to a 2mm thick aluminium panel with a gap of half a millimetre between each strip. Would this dissipate the heat well?

should work fine. most strips do not get hot. I use 1/8" x 3/4" min. aluminum flat stock

Thanks, and I plan on using thermal tape too.

Each strip is about 25w-30w

You'll want a fan at higher powers. But still, a little bit of fan goes a long way on strips.

I run 8x those 560mm EB strips on 2x2 panels of aluminum roll stock (near paper thin) @1050ma, and get only 1.1% voltage droop at full operating temp.

Wouldnt an osciliating fan suffice as air cooling? Just blowing directly on the fixture?

Yea probably, panel mounted PC fans might be easier in the long run though
