Hey guys!

So I've been messing around with some setup configurations and came up with this setup for my 4'x4'x7'.

HLG320H-C1050A x 2 = $123
1.05a
152 V to 305 V

Cree CXB3590 3500k, 36V x 16 =$560

*Edit: Will buying from alibaba really come with a tax upwards of $100?

And finally I have a question about heatsinks. Basically, what I'm thinking is getting 4 of the 5.886" Wide Extruded Aluminum Heatsink from http://www.heatsinkusa.com/5-886-wide-extruded-aluminum-heatsink/
(The 36" option)

Heatsink x 4 = ~$251

Will this heatsink setup work?

Total Cost = ~$934 for just the COBs, Heatsinks, and Drivers

I was planning on having a 4 row setup (with 4 COBs per heatsink) in a 4'x4' Will it fit? *EDIT did the math, most likely will fit but it will be tight, would this be overkill in terms of light distribution?

My math (don't know how accurate it is) calculates that this setup will generate ~604.8W at around an efficacy rate of 60%:40% (photons:heat ratio) which would be comparable to a traditional 1000W HPS setup in terms of that the efficacy rate would give me (a generous estimate) of 1.5g per 1W. (604.8x1.5=907.2). What do you guys think? I have been mainly working with Cree's but a lot of people are telling me Vero's are the best bang for the buck.

I believe you have to pay duty tax for import
Checkout cobkits.com and timbergrowlights.com northerngrowlights.com they have better deals for same cobs

I did 2 rows of 4 on 36" 5.886" profiles. Ran at 1.75 amps. I'd be happier with 16 @ 1.050 tho.
Yeah at this point really trying to go with 16 CXB3590 (3500k,36v) @ 1.050 amp

I've also been thinking about running 22 CXB3590 with 2 HLG-320h-C700b (428V, 700ma) but have no idea what type of heatsinks I could use for that set up

looks like you want more cobs lower amps to get efficacy that's great, but for me I would put them on smaller drivers and add two more, do to only what if a driver go's out, you lose half of your lighting till you can get a new one but you should have a great light ether way you go

That's actually a brilliant idea! Holy shit, yeah I'm going to tinker around with smaller drivers

Any heatsink bro.definitely use heatsinkusa bar style if you do THAT MANY though. Throw one or two 140mm fans on too and you could probably do 11 on each bar! 700mA is VERY low heat

Please reconsider driving series rather than parallel, there is a very good reason anything near 100v is ordinarily AC not DC. DC @ 50v can penetrate sweaty skin and for the average adult male 0.6A will kill you. I have an awesome cheap chinese supplier who will supply you a far safer dedicated low voltage driver.
