would a plant vegged for a month or 2 yeild more than a sog of the same genetics. and will potency be a factor

Plants do better with maturity.
Sog will hold a plant back (stunt type thing) and in the same earlier given time will produce less.
However, if you chop at a mature time (allow more vegging) it could easily out produce.
Same lightt / etc. for one way is fully benefitial for the other though. Unless taylored to the individual styles,, you'd likely be comparing apples to oranges.
