I am not too familiar with autos but I would imagine they are similar that most people look at the trichomes with a pocket microscope or jewelers loop. they should be cloudy with a few amber but mostly cloudy. if you have no way of looking and can't get something to magnify then just when most hairs turn brown.

that first one looks like it has a bit of time ahead of it so yes will get bigger buds probably won't get much taller or wider overall

It really depends on how good the soil and nutrients are for how big an auto will get and how much it may yeild IMO, "I've never grown one either
, but they look good

As previously stated, harvest when 50% of trichs are cloudy and 25% amber, but that is a preferential thing. I personally wait until you don't need a scope to see that most of the trichs are amber, the sugar leaves start looking golden brown almost. What kinda light cycle are you using for those?
