hello. this is my first time growing.
vegetation period : 8days
i am using a 65 watts dual cfl daylight as u can see in the picture.
a computer fan
my box is around 25 inches height and 18 inches depth.
i have 3 strains in a gallon pot because i don't know which are females so i planted them all in one.
today they became 8 days old.
my nutrients are prepared for the flowering stage and i have another warm light cfl of 32watts that i'm considering adding to the flowering stage.

the 3 of them seem healthy and doing okay for now 20140121_154624.jpg

can anyone just tell me if i'm doing everything okay? should i add the extra light during the flowering stage?

also is it really bad to have 3 strains in one gallon pot? what do you advice me to do.

any help is much appreciated

I would think you would have a terribly difficult time separating the roots of one female from two males, if that was to happen. Get the little guys their own space and they will thank you for it.

EDIT: Ditch the aluminum foil and line the inside of the box in panda plastic

1 plant per pot no exceptions. keep the plant 6" from the light and add more for flower. do some research this look like an experiment not a grow op

1 plant per pot, no aluminum foil, fan in top of cabinet sucking air out with a hole near the bottom to intake cool air small fan for circulation inside the cabinet. that's the basics

first of all i said this is the first time growing so how about you actually compromise those words with something more cheerful and hopeful? jeez, of all forums i've looked at, i believe i am the only one being replied to negatively with no hope however thousands of people have actually done worse than me and succeeded much in growing...

to state again, i'm a noob, first time growing, the space that i have is limited and cannot have more holes. all articles online tell u that u just need to have a good air flow and circulation and you're good to go. but no, i'm guessing you have to destroy every ounce of hope i had and complicate things and ruin my joy :)

thanks tho lol

Don't get discouraged man, here are a few tips(assuming you can't cut more holes):

-mount that fan on that hole with screws and use it as an exhaust fan to remove the heat produced by the CFL's
-remove the aluminum foil and paint the inside white, or cover it completely with panda plastic (white material)
-give each plant it's own space and nutrients to grow(1 plant/pot)
-6500k CFL's during veg stage and 2500k CFL's for flower stage (you can use 2500k in veg and 6500k in flower, but only a small ratio compared to prime spectrum)

Make a quick trip over to the CFL/Micro Grow forums under Indoor Growing and read some of the grow journals, you will learn all of the information you require.

I really appreciate your reply man although I have one question left. I am going to do everything you said but how am I going to be able to seperate them at this stage? They're 10 days old. Is there a way I could give each its pot without ruining them? I already killed off one on purpose :(

never mind, i removed them, put them in small pots and kept the good one in the big pot. got my carbon filter today for later on. removed the alluminium although couldnt find any panda plastic that is white so i just used white papers covering all the edges and borders. is that cool?

I'm not sure what to say... I wasn't being rude, wasn't being negative I answered all your questions in plain English, what else do you need?

My bro does his moms two per five gallon bucket. I use a trough for six moms. Moms are females that are not going to get budded(until they go woody). Read through the threads and find what you like best. You got a good start. there is no one size fits all as climate and other things like elevation above sea level etc will effect the grow and the grower has to tune in to the surroundings.

He isn't using clones so he doesn't know if he has females, growing them in the same pot would be disastrous if the sexes were mixed.

Personally I prefer mylar over flat white paint, it has a higher reflectivity than paint, and helps control moisture better.

i dont mean to be mean, but this looks like shit. you can get a 50 foot roll of mylar for 10-20 bucks, get a $55, 125W CFL (i use Hydrofarm Fluorescents), put them in a closet painted flat white and put mylar up and you'll have 3x the yield i guarantee it. theres no way that fluorescent will sustain 3 plants. if it does you'll be lucky to get 4-5 grams.

Check out my grow man, I just used spray adhesive to paste white poster board onto the sides of my cab, cheap and effective. I think that my cab looks good? EASY AND CHEAP cant beat it
