O okay meters cool, yeah that helps bunches man. I personally like to go bare bulb vertical, with 600 watters, I got my best yeilds and results that way. Air flow is by far and large where the money needs to be spent!!!!!!! Veg time is important 5 weeks is a bit long depending on your needs and heights that you can get away with, some plants love topping some do not these days - so know your strains - study anything on them you can f you have not grown them before. The 2 week stretch is real and happens, after the stretch no topping cliping or ruining budsites just saying, it will affect yeilds. I am a little rusty on the net as of now so I hope I helped a little and I will be back on later to answer some more!! MD

A 1000W bulb should cover an 8 x 8 foot room. A 600W bulb should cover a 6 x 6 foot room. I think you are thinking too much lighting, especially this time of year in tents. I would be comfortable using one 1000W bulb in a 2 meter tent and a single 600W bulb in the smaller tent. You will have heat issues and need to have sufficient fan/extraction equipment in place before starting. Also, figure you need 3-4 times as much space for flowering as you do for vegging. So don't count on using the same space for both modes. Off the top of my head I would suggest figuring at least 4 square feet of floor space for each flowering plant.

Good luck, BigSteve.

well steve hows things .... fan kit been looking at 8" £400 and suppose to be very good ... also will have intake all sorted ... lights is where im stuck as was looking at a 3m x2m x2m tent and was gonna stick 3 x 600w in there but wondered was this to much elec use when taking fans and bits into consideration.... so am looking at weather a 2x2 would be better but still lighting is where I would like advice .... light movers??4 x400w? ..... 3x600w? ....

My choice for the plants would be 3 - 600 watters, great for the plants, plenty of light, little less heat, and slight power savings versus 3000 watts

3 600's cover a good bit of ground, bulb ends and sockets dont give you any help but you know that already.

Once I took a good look at your numbers I can see that you aren't talking about ordinary grow tents. 9 x 6 x 6 feet is humongous. I wouldn't worry too much about the cost of juice as you can turn a profit from every watt used. Your big tent is well suited to support 2 x 600W or 1000W bulbs. Remember you want to have some space left empty so you can maneuver around and service your plants. So I would mount 2 bulbs in the big tent for flowering. Place them so that they slightly overlap penumbras, eh? I would forget the light movers, too. I have never seen them operate well unless in a large commercial set-up.

When I'm setting up a new room I like to lay out as many pots as I hope to have in the room at any one time. If you want to finish 10 at a time set out 10 large pots in the flower room and move them around until you see a pattern that allows for maximum coverage. You may discover that the number you picked may have to be scaled down some. My 8 x 8 flower room has one 1000W bulb and seems to cover it well. I allow for some space around the door (in case a box fan on the floor is needed) and in the corners.

Good luck, BigSteve.
