Hey thanks for reading. Ill start by explaining my operation. I have so plants (bag seeds) they will be 30 days old on Saturday. I have them in miracle grow potting soil. It says it has plant food that will last 6 months. I have them under 2 four foot flouresnt bulbs I bought at Walmart. They r the plant and vegetation bulbs. I gave them miracle grow plant food with an NPK ratio of 15 30 15. I gave them a half a tblespoon yesterday. Now I see them today with yellow markings on most of the leaves. The weird thing is they look like they've.grown a substantial amount. I plan on flowering Saturday. Please all the advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanx. Dave

Hey there mate! How did you feed them the plant food? Disolved in water for watering or foliar feeding? How much water? What was the recomended dossage?
Are the yellow markings on the tips or spread on all the leaf? Has it started at the lower leaves and spreaded upwards? In the middle leaves? Do you have any pics?

I just wanted to correct some things. I have two plants. I gave them a half gallon of water w half a tablespoon of the plant food. I only gave them about a cup each with that mixture. Thanks again.

Pictures if you could, better diagnosis. I'd say stay away from miracle grow, esp time release. I hear it is moreso meant for turf and grass than a true fruiting/flowering plant. Also, typically people don't smoke the grass/turf off of the ground. People don't typically eat it either. If its the fert I'm thinking of, then it probably is not safe for human consumption. Regardless it is probably lacking the nutrients needed for a proper flower. I'd check those ratios again. Also, most of what you will be doing should be in teaspoons. Less is more. Less is more.

ya prob nute burn man..flush em' they shud recover if it says 6 months then i wudnt give them nutes for a while i personally wudnt use tht soil again but thts just me. it was prob hard on ur seedlings

Listen to the Scrog'ster......me thinks he is onto something. MG soil and MG ferts @ 15-30-15 seems like a recipe for burnt goodies. I mean the nutes i use for veg are only 7-9-5 (dyna gro - grow)
15-30-15 on top of the soil seems like a molotov cocktail for your girls.

Yea, I'd flush ASAP if it worsens. Start at 1/8th strength nutes, then go to 1/4...etc. Measure precisely in ml or teaspoons. What about the rest of the environment. Temps, humidity, ventilation...etc. Let's diagnosis any and all issues right now and right away esp. if you want to flower the day after tomorrow. PM me if you would like to and we'll get cracking.

Thanx for responding back everyone. The gro room is in my closet with plenty of ventilation. The yellow spots started from the bottom. My best plant seems to be doing a lot better. The closet is about 4 and a half feet by two feet. Ill definitely flush them if it worsens. Tips for flowering? Specific fertilizer for flowering?

i would say like the others without a pic that its deff a nute burn. just flush them and give them about 1wk to recover then swap to flower. they will get alot of new growth with the 12/12.
and if i remember rite 15-30-15 we used on pot mums and its a ts per gal not 1/2gal and the mg soil makes it so hard even when feeding precise to not nute burn. im not a fan of time release on anything i plan on giving nutes...its great for shrubs and yard stuff but thats what i use it for and only my opinion, some like mg soil and nutes for there grows

Flush your girls and switch to flower like the rest said. best thing for you is to use this forum as a tool. READ READ READ!!!!!! Get yourself the medicinalmarijuana bible by jorge cervantes. Anything writtend by jorge cervantes or ed rosenthal should be good info. The best thing you can do as a novice pot grower is to educate yourself on the plant, and plant diagnostics. Personally i like the Medcical marijuana bible : Jorge Cervantes. It has hundreds of color photos and vivid descriptions of plant diagnostics. Everthing from nutes, to bugs, fungus' and molds. And they seem to keep an up to date version out there. Mine was from 2008 and was very in tune with today newer equipment, and problems with differents types of media soils and companies.

Knowledge is power. Buy a book over reading this forum if you are a new grower. It will give you way more good and trust worthy info than any forum can even hope to provide...there is a reason the books cost money and this forum is free. Also flower needs high P and K and less N. Balance your ratios with that in mind.

For sure a book helps a lot but it's not interactive! Not everyone learns the same way... I like books, articles and reading in general but what a forum like RIU provides is priceless literally and metaphorically!!! The fact that you don't pay for a forum doesn't make the info in it worthless... The forum is paid for... not by the user but by the companies advertised on it!
Sure... some times you have to fish for the right info amidst crappy advice! But that's the name of the game! The experiences of people in here, the experiments they conduct and share, the grow journals that you can follow on specific strains that might interest you... Come on... There is no book to compare to all of that!!

First things nutes that say that it will last for a certain length of time i never use,for the reason being plants grow a differant rates so how can someone say how much a plant is utiliseing each day or week.Get hold of a base nute that can be set to what you need for the time of growth.something like canna or advanced.setting the nutes at the right ec means the differance between sucess and 1 oz per plant. Also i can't understand why people use bag seed, the seed from these kind of plants can have hermi tendencys wich are carried over from the mother plant. You will have to up the lighting too if you want to get anything that is gonna be worth the risk of gardening indoors......tyke
