Once you do your 4 years for the service the cash flow ends. Unless you learn a real good trade. My friend was a heavy equipment operator (bull dozers) came home and can not get a job without paying for the training she already learned from the service.
Some jobs just don't transfer from Military to Civilian. And the recruiter will tell you yes they do. Freaking Liars.
I did my 4 years many years ago (Gulf War Vet), and I did them for my country. So no matter why you sign up, just make sure you get all you can out of it. Rememeber those recruiters lie. SO don't be surprised. Make every day in the Military count.
I would suggest that if you enjoy those 4 years, make it a career. Think about it, retiree at like 38-39. Full benifits.
