that's your problem. ok here's what you can do. first using tap water or R/O water NOT distilled, water the plants. the water that comes out the bottom will tell you what the pH of your medium(soil) is. Your "runoff" water should be between 6.3-6.8 in soil to ensure optimum nutrient uptake. let me know what the pH is of your runoff and i'll see what I can say to help correct it if off.

below or above 6.3-6.8 will cause a "lockout" where your plant is getting too much of one or more nutes and none of the rest.

ok so you are experiencing a nutrient lock out. Leach the medium(3x the pot size in water so 1gal pot - 3 gal water.) do not add anything to the water and no not use distilled water. straight tap or left out tap or R/O(drinking water from walmart) water will work. let them dry out after that. once dry(usually a week or so depending on pot size and water uptake) water once more with clean water, this time you are going to figure out what you need your pH nute solution to be, to do this you will check the pH of the clean(usually 7.0) and then check your runoff. just a regular watering though do not soak them too much. take those numbers and figure out the difference. so if you go in 7.0 and come out 6.0 again you'll wait till the next watering and gradually raise the pH to your desired level. 6.5 is perfect for soil. you were right about that. however you were checking the wrong source to be 6.5. good luck and send me a pm if you need anything else

Ok thank you a lot so when I use tap water should I make the ph 6.5 or just leave it straight how it is? Thank you for all of the help

leave your tap as is. your runoff is too low right now. you wouldn't want to lower it. test your tap and see what the pH reading is.

Dont listen to a word that hack spoon fed you. Ph of 6 is fine!!! Hes talkin outta his ass. You want answeres of why its happening start answering questions and let RIU figure it out. Lights, kind and height from plant. Soil, type and size of container. Nutrients, how much, how often, and what kind.
Whoever that moron trying to tell you your ph is off doesnt have a frickin clue.....ph, really? Give your head a shake and stop killing peoples plants.

Who are you kidding bro? The guy has one plant and a cfl and your suggestion after getting no facts besides that his ph is 6.5 is that he needs a RO system. Are you kidding me? You must work for a hydro store that sells em. GTFO dude. To the original poster, get a second opinion cause this guys a hack ;)

READ THE CHARTS THEY DON'T LIE.. who cares what words I said the chart isn't wrong. pH has EVERYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR GROW! no matter what brand or strength nutes you use, improper pH WILL grow and yield less. ask some of the pro's send someone a private message. i'm not wrong, crackpot noob is. WHO THE FUCK SAID ANYTHING ABOUT BUYING AN RO SYSTEM?!?!?! I suggested R/O WATER you know 99 cent bottle from WALMART! it's called DRINKING WATER... and no i'm not a grow shop owner or worker. I sit at home all day growing.

The ph run off was at 6.0
If your run off is at six, and the water is at eight, and the soil is at 6.5, id say that all averages out to around 6.5 - 7 in the root zone dont you think? Ive seen plants grow in hydro with 8-9 ph and never had a problem like that pictures showing. Id like to know what the specs on the grow too. Nutrients and soil being the key ones. Like that dude says, i dont think its a ph problem. Ive read that chart before but seriously, the guys soils at 6.5, how much closer do you want it, and idk if it even makes sence that soils at 6.5, waters at 8, and the run off is the lowest number? You would think it would be somewhere in between right. Maybe one of your instruments is off. More info is needed id think. Good luck :):):)

his tap water is at 8 he was going in 6.5 and coming out 6.0,,, 6.3-6.8 is the range for any non hydro system. what's so wrong about that?? I mean I keep getting people telling me my information isn't correct. i'm going by PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I have had these issues before. kept thinking def/tox, over and over screwing with nutes and the WHOLE time it was my pH at 5.9. I killed 3 plants 2 years ago due to a nutrient lockout from LOW pH one at 5.6 one 5.9 and one at 6.0. so i'm pretty sure I know what I am taking about, without needing more pictures or information.(BTW just a suggestion, I now use General Organics because It does not need to be pH'd nor will it cause any issues. I feed FULL STRENGTH+, I OD on BioBud to create purple coloring within the plant, OD on BioMarine to strengthen the stalk and main stems. by OD I mean seriously Over dose... calls for 1/2 tsp per gallon of BioBud I use 3+ calls for 2 tsp per gallon BioMarine I use upwards of 6. I haven't had a pH issue or nutrient issue in 2 years)
