Help, Is This Mold?

These buds are now dry but they were left in a less than ideal environment for a day two days ago. This doesn't appear to look any worse than it did and it doesn't appear to have spread BUT upon noticing this I did get the airflow going quite a lot and drop the temperature using a cooling unit.

I'm worried that this is mold but when cropped the resin levels were good so I'm just wondering if I'm being a bit paranoid.

Here are a couple of photos I took using my phone cam and a 30x magnifying glass, the lighter looking image was with the camera flash on.

Bugger! Oh well, thanks or your response. It's the first time out of 3 that it's happened. Just sat here picking it all out at the moment.Fortunately only half of my crop was in that place, the rest was hanging up and appears unaffected. It only seems to be on the really very dry stuff which seems a bit odd.

Sure looks like it, I feel for you. Hope you don't find anymore good luck next time.

Its hard to see anything in the pictures, the second picture I see a leaf that looks a bit brown. When you break it apart, does the bud turn to "dust" almost? If it does, chances are it is mold. Otherwise, there's no way you can tell from those pictures.

Thanks for your input. Nothing seems to be turning to dust, for all I know this could just be resin related as it's a far better crop than I've done before. A fine white dust does rise from some of it when I break apart buds that have stuck to each other.

You can identify mold by looking closely for black spots, dark green spots, white/grayish stringy matter or other unusual coloring. The mold will also noticeably effect the smell of the marijuana, turning it a more musty and unpleasant smell. Mold spores sometimes resemble the crystal looking trichomes that naturally occur on marijuana which can cause some novice users to mistake signs of mold for characteristics of higher grade marijuana. The best way to identify mold on marijuana is to view it under a black light. Mold spores will appear a distinctive green hue when put under a black light.

The only time I had mold in my buds, it was the last bud of the jar, in fact, the last of that crop! Had no issues until I broke the last bud in two and it had mold in it. It was totally crispy (you could turn it to almost dust with your hands) and still the bitch got mold.

From your photos, it's mold alright but it's really just starting to show so my advice would as follows: remove what you can with your fingers (if necessary neglect the most affected parts of the bud) and smoke it right away! I know many people will tell you not to do so but I'm pretty sure nothing bad will happen in that stage, even the taste, hopefully, won't be messed up. Cheers!
