i have a hawgs kush or haws breath seed and then i have a jack herer seed. the hawgs one is indica and feminized (dont know if that matters) and the jack herer i think is sativa. either way i got a whole closet so i really wanted a big tree for christmas ;]

u think i should just do hydro grow? and if so any ideas on how much a hydro set up would be...? im really leaning more on the organic side though. i just think it would give me more potent and much better tasting buds.

just keep it simple.

Use potting soil without time released ferts. It'll still have ferts in it...but only enough to last the plant for 3 weeks or so.

Then use ferts after the 3 weeks are up.

would i use ferts depending on how the plant is reacting or just go ahead and fert after 3 weeks?

hydro gets expensive lots of eqquipment, timers, pumps, reservoirs, net pots, not to mention the electricity you use.

You CANNOT fert no matter what for the first 2 weeks. After that...there are two stages of fertilizing.

VEg: Higher nitrogen N - P - K (all ferts have a N-P-K rating in numbers. Ex. 15 - 0 - 0 is the fert #'s for blood meal (which is good for vegging)

Unsulphured black molasses are good through the veg and the flower stages

Flower: Higher potasium N - P - K
(ex. Miracle grow 15 - 30 - 15) See? Higher middle number (potasium) It still gives the plant other nutrients...but potasium is highest.

I go VERY light with ferts. Even a bit lighter than recommended. I use some form of fert every watering which averages every 3rd or 4th day.

after three weeks start with 1/4 strength of some nute system with high nitrogen or use MG general purpose npk value is 20-20-20 i believe 1/4 strength of that in your water every other watering for veg stage, when you start flowering go to something with a higher phosphorus content and not so much nitrogen

HELL YEA! learned something new today! lol
ive always been wondering what that ment hahaah thanx
thats soo cool.

so i should use organic ferts since obviously i'd be using organic soil. right? or does this matter?

your plant is tiny for 2 months old.

Your lights are probably too far away.

With fluorescents you need the lights with a few inches of the plant.

You might need more light too...but I can veg a plant to about 12" tall in 6 weeks with pretty tight node spacing with just one or two 26 watt cfl bulbs so...

get those lights closer!

For flowering you will need to double maybe even triple the number of lights used and of course make sure that the majority of them are "warm" in K color. REad a lot in the cfl sub forum on this site to learn more.

i'll remember that. i'll look that up and focus on buying bulbs with the right spectrum. also ive seen ppl with red lights yellow lights and other colors too. is this really important or its just to perfect the plants environment?

I use both. I am a personal grower and I don't like shelling out a ton of cash.

Blood meal mixed in with the bottom 2/3 of the dirt...covered with 1/3 of dirt w/o blood meal. That way the plant doesn't grow into the ferts too fast...and since they are organic anyways...less chance of nute burn anyhoot.

I use unsulphured black molasses and hydrogen peroxide (dirt cheap buy at grocery store for a buck) maybe a table spoon of each in with 1/2 gallon of water. I do this after 2 - 3 weeks. I like to veg for 6 weeks.

Then onto flower.

I use chemical mg powder. 15 - 30 - 15. lightly! Every feeding for the first 4 or 5 feedings. Then I alternate the molasses/peroxide feedings with mg feedings.

Until I hit a week or so before I want to chop down the plant. Then I just use straight water and good amounts of it. (flushing)

Very important.

Warm (reddish/orangish light) is for flowering. Cool (blueish light) is for vegging. In flowering it's good to have a few cool lights with many more warm lights. In veg they can all be cool.
