I am 2 weeks into flowering in an outdoor grow in Maine. Last week I noticed one plant with yellowing leaves with brown spots and thinning inside plant. Now surrounding plants are getting same yellowing leaves with brown spots and spreading to more of plant every day and inside the plants are drying and disappearing. A few other plants are getting solid yellow leaves scattered on the plants and1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg11.jpg5.jpg6.jpg7.jpg8.jpg10.jpg not one place. Please help.

Potassium Deficiency
This mineral is the third in the group of primary nutrients required in larger quantities by cannabis. Potassium should be available throughout the plants life cycle. It plays a part in regulating transpiration, the manufacture of starches, sugars and chlorophyll. Potassium is therefore important for the generation of energy within the plant and enhances plant and root growth. All complete fertilizers contain potassium. Kelp or seaweed extracts and composted soil such as worm castings is an excellent organic source. Wood ash contains high levels of potassium but due to the equally high calcium content it also raises the pH and should only be used on acidic soil.
Causes:
Poor soil quality.
Over-fertilization. Also here the same principles apply as with phosphorus.

Symptoms:
A potassium deficiency sometimes resembles lack of nitrogen in the first stages of leaf deterioration. But the difference is that the leaves also develop rust-colored spots. Eventually the affected leaves wilt and drop.
The leaf tips on healthy leaves may turn brown and resemble the symptoms of over-fertilization. This is due to a disruption in transpiration (since potassium regulates the opening and closing of the stomata on the leaf surface, where water evaporates from the plant and gases such as CO2 are drawn in).
In severe cases the stems become brittle.
A deficiency is more common in older plants and therefore the flowering phase will be negatively affected. You can expect low yields.
Solution to fixing a Potassium deficiency
Any Chemical/Organic nutrients that have potassium in them will fix a potassium deficiency. Again Peters All Purpose plant food 20-20-20, will cure the potassium deficiency, Miracle grow Tomato plant food, Miracle grow All purpose plant food. (Only mixing at ½ strength when using chemical nutrients, or it will cause nutrient burn!) Some other supplements of potassium are: Wood ashes, which are fast absorption, Kelp Meal, which is medium absorption, Greensand, which is slow absorption, granite dust, which is slow absorption. Sulfate of Potash, Sulfate of Potash Magnesia, Muriate of Potash, which are medium absorption. FOXFARM GROW BIG HYDROPONIC CONCENTRATE, which is fast absorption. (FFGB can bring your pH down as well) Earth Juice Meta-K, which is fast acting. (Can bring down your pH as well) Leaves will never recover, but the plant will show recovery after about 4 to 5 days when using a fast acting nutrient.

Note: Wood Ashes, can make your pH go up a bit, so please monitor your pH when using it.

Now if you added to much chemical nutrients and or organics, (which is hard to burn your plants when using organics) you need to flush the soil with plain water. You need to use 2 times as much water as the size of the pot, for example: If you have a 5 gallon pot and need to flush it, you need to use 10 gallons of water to rinse out the soil good enough to get rid of excessive nutrients.

I am using Flora Series Nutrients with Grow, Bloom, Micro, Flora Blend, Diamond Nectar, Flora Nectar, Koolbloom and ph to 5.6. I adjust the ppm to about 800 and every plant gets same amount of food. Some are completely fine. What would you suggest I add to help?

which koolbloom are you using liquid or powder and are you mixing all those nutes together at once check underside of leaves for pest too.

so you think that those plants are not getting the correct nutrients? They are all getting the same so wouldn't they all have those symptoms if it was nutrient problem?

Depending on root structure. some plants of the same strain may show different deficiency symptoms. it's all in how much each plant takes in. some require more than others. I have clones that require more nutrients than others. and they are all from the same plant.

Which KoolBloom, wet or dry? I think I see the same thing as Sxlstew! P&K toxicity..

Pic 1 looks like a mold/fungus problem with those white spots. Get some horsetail tea and spray on the plants. The plants will like it......Learned about horsetail tea here. Who say's an old dog can't learn a new trick....

I just purchased the large bottle of the foxfarm Griw Big since it said it is a fast action solution for potassium. Should I ad it to my regular nutrients for feeding or use only the FFGB in water and feed all plants? I assume if its not the potassium problem using this will not hurt.

of course it won't hurt and use it alone. give them a week or so to show signs of recovery.
