HELP! LOOK WHAT I FOUND AT WORK! installing this tonight? I HOPE..

So i made a post yesterday cuz i found a blower at work, however i broke it on accident... so i found this one at work.... check it out... will this one create colder (not cold, but colder) air since it has that shit on the back? (second pic) or what is the purpose of it? i wanted to use it to blow air in... or should i use it as exhaust??

That my friend is one very large heat sink. Used to remove heat from computer processors. See the copper area at the base? Thats where it sits on the processor. So in the long run it won't be any better for you than the fan in itself, which would need the sink to be taken off it to work for you. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Put it on ur computer it will like you more for it than your plants lol

lol nah i have a laptop... that shit would look funny if i installed it hahah sorry... so if i take this heatsink off this would be a good lil exhaust fan?

Usually your exhaust fan will be a bit larger than that due to ducting loss, light trap and any filter you install (like a carbon filter for odor control). It would probably work just fine for an intake fan. I try to keep the air pressure slightly negative in my cabinet to minimize smell & light leaks against the door seal. Hope that helps.
