help maximizing yield

I am working with very limited space roughly 1ft by 3ft deep and 5ft tall. A custom built box,with a 250 wt hps with a hyrdro setup. My last grow was 3 plants and yielded roughly an ounce total. I was wondering if there were anyways to increase my yield. Ie; strain change more less plants, anything really that could help. Im on my 5th year of growing just never ever in such restricted space. Helpful comments only please.

FIM, LST, longer veg time.

Longer veg time and try adding some cfls to the bottom of the box to add some light to the bottom of plant to increase yeild by not having to remove the bottom third of the plant.

Good point about the lower lights. I have 4, 45 watt CFLs next to my girls during flowering with my main lights above.

You know i only flower with white high output t5 i know the red is better but i get great results with it so try mixing in a couple 5000K in with the 2700K you are using now for cfls and you will see the difference.

Im Going nutrient shopping tomorrow. Any suggestions on nutrient formulas that work best for auto-flowering plants. Also Root Roid; is it any good?
