Go for the mylar, i have been using white paint for years and finally picked up some mylar and I am soo glad i did

I am working with a small space and it turns it into a little tanning salon

For the money I think it is a wise investment but to each his own

Take a look at my grow and you can see the difference from the start to the last pictures

I always thought mylar looked kind of 'visually disturbing'. I was also eyeing that white plastic I see so many people use. I don't think it would be as disorienting as the mylar.

Why should you care what it looks like?

You are doing this to maximize what you can do in your cabinet for the plants grow time in there

Once I put that stuff in my cabinet, they have exploded with new growth everyday

The only thing I can say is it made a big difference in my plants and even lower and side leaves that were normally excluded from light do to poor refection now are growing a lot more than the should

I have a pretty bad visual impairment that can cause me to get severe stress headaches, nausea and disorientation in certain visual scenarios.. it's kind of hard to describe. But I know just by looking at that stuff that me in an enclosed area with distorted reflections and bright lights everywhere is not gonna mix well.

Don't think that I doubt what you are saying I know you are right, brother. As far as I know titanium white is even more reflective than mylar.

If it is that bad then yes do the white paint thing

I have not heard of that before but my apologies for pushing,we are all built a little different

I have bad knees and you do need to be there also to tend to the plants or it just does not work out as well

Good luck on you growing

I am still looking for a nice 400W system, hoping to squeeze some medium and pots in that budget too. I'll be getting $175 for this job today, hopefully another $300 by the weekend.

Yeah I know I have to get more soil anyways, got a few lil ones coming up. What's a good inert grow medium these days? The fan is working good right now, almost too good. Some of my clones have purple stems from the temp dropping too low at night.

Got great news today, got another PC repair job today so that's another $300 to my budget. Of course my vacuum just had to break last night, so I'll have to use part of that money for a new one.

Yeah I was definitely going for an air cooled reflector because of that. Also if I do that then my temps should be low enough where I can set up a second area with the 2x 150W lights for some shorter plants, maybe a lil sea of green setup.

this is roughly how it's set up now:

And this is what I am thinking of doing.

Obviously the light would have to tie into the exhaust system, I just forgot to draw it in. How would I tie a carbon filter into a setup like that though?

I am thinking my cooling should be good enough until the summer hits, by then I should have upgraded my ventilation.
Any thoughts?

I was thinking I can grow taller plants and put them in the main area. Then I'll put some clones without any vegging period on top of the veg box for some smoke between main crops. Is a feasible plan to get me perpetual or what?
