Hey guys was looking for input on how you would use a 3x3 tent with 400w hps would you scrog, sog, just grow normal what's your opinion for best results any input is appreciated

I think that depends on how long you are going to veg for, how big you want your plants, how many plants you want, etc. I usually grow 2-4 plants in that same space using a 400w, with some supplemental lighting, and they turn out great. Either way, whether I'm growing 2, 3, or 4, I generally use the same training techniques, which are topping and supercropping.

I had thought about 4 plants in 3 gallon pots and some training and side lighting as needed and I have separate veg space that allows for about 2 foot of height before I throw them into flower

Another thought was line the floor with square one gallon pots and do perpetual sog but don't think the yeild would be sufficient for me

Yea, I mean, either of those would work for sure. I've never done anything like a perpetual sog, so I don't have much advice on that front, but I do train the ish out of my girls no matter what type of setup I'm going with and throw side lighting every time. If you have a separate veg room then I'd probably go with a perpetual grow myself, just seems like you'd be able to keep churning out product like a machine.

I just moved these guys into same size tent as you for a sog. Fit four 7.5 gal, 1x3gal and 3x1 gal with room to spare!
